A CRISP & CLEAR SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 20th/NOVEMBER 2016.

We had another nice lie in this morning until the church bells started calling the faithful; for breakfast we had Brenda’s famous ‘Poached Eggs on Toast  (sadly not ‘Campo’) – one technical problem is that we have run out of ‘ Sarson’s Malt Vinegar’ – the local  ‘White Wine Vinegar’ doesn’t work, we are going across to Sotogrande on Tuesday morning after we come back from Marbella to ‘ Iceland’ to top up with all the English essentials ready for Xmas! Watch this space.

At the moment it’s calm & dry with no wind, the forecast was for later today changing, to be wet & windy, the tail end of the ‘Atlantic’ storm that is causing havoc in the UK is due to hit us earlier than forecast, the week ahead doesn’t look good at the moment, we will have to dodge the wet stuff as we are out & about here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’!

See the picture below of a view of the coast this morning.

This evening for our supper it’s going to ‘Pan Cooked Escalope’s of Turkey Breast’ in a Lime Butter Sauce with Savoury Basmati Rice & whole Green Beans, a sauceboat of ‘Creamy Mushroom’ sauce on the side. Next week’s new ‘regime’ menus are yet to be selected, watch this space.

One problem for next weekend is our plans to go out for our ‘Sunday Roast Lunch’ next weekend with our friend Gillian have been ‘ Thwarted’ – our favourite restaurant ‘ Kokomo’ is closed for their annual holidays, we had the same problem last year, so we went to ‘ La Sala’ instead, sadly it’s closed for refurbishment for the same week! We are having to think where to go locally as they are all un-tried and most of them don’ have good reports, watch this space.

We are at the moment trying to set up the new exercise bike in the ‘chill out room’ – it’s ready to use but the instruction to set up the tensions/timing’s etc are in Spanish, we are planning to go on it daily in the mornings, watch this space. Mano has just called and after changing the batteries, he shown us how to use it!

See below the bike ready for the off!!

On Tuesday morning we have Brenda’s second appointment for a X-Ray over at the Hospital just past Marbella, we are then calling into ‘ Leroy Merlin’ to find a small oil heater for the main guest bedroom, we also have to buy a new mobile phone as Brenda’s is not working after dropping it last week, the plan is for her to have mine and I get the new one, watch this space?!

While Mano was here he fiddled with it and it came back on! Brenda is now back in business on her usual number and I won't have a new phone!

Then on Wednesday morning Brenda is down at the surgery for her appointment with our Doctor to update her on her ‘ Kidney’ results, I will be down in Sabinillas on Friday morning for the weekly shopping. Our friend Gillian, who is staying with us for 2/3 days is due fly into Malaga on Saturday morning, she’s catching the bus to Marbella and we are then collecting her.

Just a quick update on the sports results; over here in ‘ La Liga’ Barcelona could only manage a 0-0 draw with Malaga, at home, meanwhile Real Madrid beat Atl. Madrid 0-3 as Ronaldo scored his 39th career hat-trick! They are now top of the ‘ La Liga’ by 4 points!! In the ‘ Premiere League’ Manchester City won 1-2, Everton drew again 1-1 & Liverpool also drew 0-0 and are still top of the league along with Manchester City. The Jump Racing was very exciting, from Haydock Park, with some of the older horses showing their best, then the  ‘ ATP World Tour’ Tennis from the ‘ 02 Arena’ was very gripping as Andy Murray beat Milos Raonic and plays Novak Djokvic in the final later today.

See below the Railway Station on Anglesey today with the longest name!

We are still having our ‘ Happy Hour ’ cocktails at the start of the evening but Brenda has had to cut out her favourite ‘Gin & Tonic’ in favour of a glass of wine, I’m still on my ‘Bacardi & Coke’! Later we will settle down to watch the results show from Blackpool of ‘ Strictly Come Dancing’ and then ‘ Planet Earth II ‘

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
