A CRISP & DRY SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.
I was up first to welcome little princess ‘
Reina’ back with us for the day here in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ Brenda had a
little lie in as her feet are still giving her ‘ Jip’ – I’m taking her at
lunchtime to see our Doctor, she can hardly walk on them and is in some pain,
her feet ankles and legs are swollen, again, watch this space.
Our Doctor, Natalia, gave Brenda a very good check over, she checked all her reports, blood tests & yesterdays ' ECG' - her breathlessness is due to her ' Arrhythmia' heart beat picking up a bit due to some of the other medications she is on, she's adjusted them and added another, she has to go back on Monday lunchtime for a check up to make sure that all is OK!
I also confirmed that we have three methods of responding to any problems, our local ambulance service via our 'Green Card' ( the new village Ambulance has just been delivered!) - our private medical assistance with ' Helicopteros Sanitarios' and also our online ' Live' emergency ' Red Button' to the 'Junta De Andalucia' heart response team! This was arranged by our old friend, Antonia, the ex Mayor!!
She then checked Brenda's feet, ankles & legs, she has confirmed that it's ' Gout ' - a little Arthritis - again due to the various medications/prescription tablets that she is on, once again she has prescribed some changes as well two new tablets to help with her pain etc, watch this space.

For breakfast we had ‘ Smoked Bacon Butties’
with mugs of steaming tea, yesterday afternoon I put out some more washing to
dry up on the roof ‘patio in the sky’ – later I will bring it all in, we have
no plans for the rest of the week so Brenda is going to take things very easy
after she come back from the surgery, on Friday I will be out on my travels
down in Sabinillas for the weekly shopping.
It’s started grey & overcast this
morning but the sun is just now breaking through, by lunchtime it’s due to pick
up, there is no wind and its will reach nearly 20 degs by this afternoon,
normal for this time of the year, tomorrow we are due for some of the wet stuff
but then on Friday and over the weekend it’s looking dry & settled into
next week.
See the picture below, taken this morning,
of the view across the vine fields towards the mountains behind Marbella.
For our supper this evening we are having ‘
Grilled Gammon Steaks’ garnished with Button Mushrooms and topped with a Fried
Egg ( still not Campo!) with Garden Peas
& twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ Tomorrow I’m going to make a pan of ‘ Lob Scouse’
Late last night our online banking system
was finally updated and now shows all the accounts, it only took five weeks!
This evening we are looking forward to watching the final episode of ‘ The
Missing’ - it will be very gripping as
all the secrets, plots, clues etc come together, as promised by the writers,
watch this space!

A VERY CRISP & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;
We were both up early this morning, before sunrise,
we shot down to the surgery in the car, I left it in the ‘ Mayor’s’ spot in front of the Town Hall at the top of
our street, overnight! Brenda had her appointment for a ‘ECG’ – she went straight
in and we were back in time to see ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day. Brenda is
taking things very easy today as her legs are acting up, they are swollen and
giving her ‘Jip’ – she has her appointment with our Doctor tomorrow lunchtime,
we think it’s a change in her prescription tablets, Natalia, our Doctor, will
sort it out, watch this space.
This morning it's back to normal in sunny Manilva; there was a brilliant red sunrise over the Mediterranean, the sky is blue and the white clouds are high, the sun is out and it's crisp & warm, by lunchtime it's due to reach nearly 20degs, - tomorrow we could have some of the wet stuff but then on Friday and over the weekend into next week it's looking dry & sunny again.

Yesterday evening we had a very nice supper
with Gillian down at ‘ Restaurant La Choza’ – the staff are very attentive, the
place is tastefully decorated for Xmas, to start Brenda had ‘ Grilled Asparagus
Spears with Serrano Ham & a light Cheese sauce’ – Gillian chose the ‘ Scrambled
Egg with Spinach & Prawns’ and I had their excellent ‘ Seafood Crepe in the
light Cheese sauce’
For our main course Brenda selected the ‘
Baked Tranche of Rodaballo – Turbot’ resting on a bed of garlic sliced
Potatoes, Gillian fancied a ‘Grilled Entrecote Steak’ with seasonal vegetables
& potatoes and I had their large ‘ Grilled T-Bone Steak’ with ‘ Frits’! See
the pictures below;
I chose an excellent bottle of ‘Rueda White Rioja’ to start and
then the girls had another excellent ‘Red Rioja’- by the glass, on the house we
had a rather different ‘ Caramel Liquor’ – thanks Gillian for our 45th
‘Wedding Anniversary’ supper!
This morning after our ‘Continental
Breakfast’ here in the only ‘ Boutique
Hotel’ in the village, I took Gillian across to Estepona to her friend’s
apartment in the centre of the town, she is staying with them for the next few
days, the main square is being redeveloped – at the moment it’s a very large
& deep hole?! Watch this space.
This evening we going down to the surgery,
again, for our appointments with the ‘ Chiropodist’ – I have left the car in
the lower square, for now, on the way back we are going to pick up a ‘ Fish
& Chip’ supper from Marlow’s!

A GREY& OVERCAST AND WET SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;
We had a little lie in this morning and
then after our regular breakfast we sorted ourselves out and got ready to go
over to the Bus Station in Marbella to pick up our friend Gillian after she
flew into Malaga from Bristol. She was on time and walked out from the bus station
just as we arrived, we had an horrendous drive over as we went through a cloud
burst just past Estepona, the coast road is very dangerous at the best of
times, the best place to be was in the outside lane as the road was flooding on
the sides, it was the same on the way back.
Overnight the rains returned and this
morning it started cloudy & overcast, the rain then hit us and it has not
stopped since, it’s looking like it will pick up a little from Monday, we will
find out tomorrow afternoon on the main weather forecast on ‘TVE’ what the week
has in store for us, watch this space.
We are staying in this evening, it’s
definitely a stay at home night, for our supper we are having ‘ Pan-Grilled
Medallions of Pork Fillet’ with a ‘ Charcutiere Sauce, a sharp, piquant/rich
salsa made with sliced Onions & Gherkins, Mustards & Vinegar, with from
the ‘Vegetable Chef’ - crushed Carrots, Broccoli Florets, whole Green Beans and
‘ Breton’ style Potatoes ( cooked diced potatoes sautéed with dice Onions, Red,
Green & Yellow Peppers)
Tomorrow evening Gillian is taking us out
for dinner, hopefully to ‘ Restaurante La Choza’ down in Sabinillas, to
celebrate our ‘45th Wedding Anniversary’ – which is on Tuesday!
‘ Reina’ is back with us on Monday morning
for her usual five days, first thing on Tuesday morning I’m taking Brenda down
to the surgery for her ‘ECG’- fingers crossed, that its working, later in the
morning we are then going across to Estepona to drop Gillian off at her friends
where she is staying for the rest of the week, I’m going to call into my
Barbers for my ‘pre-Xmas’ full works, no doubt Brenda will do a little window shopping?!
The on Tuesday evening we have our appointments with the ‘Chiropodist’ down at
the surgery.
Just a quick update on the sports results;
Liverpool won 2-0, Manchester City won 1-2 & Real Madrid won 2-0, Nico
Rosberg came second to Lewis Hamilton in the ‘ Abu Dhabi Grand Prix’ which
means that he is the new ‘World Champion’
