A VERY WARM AND NOW SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

TUESDAY 22nd/JULY 2014.

I was up bright and early as little princess ‘Reina’ was being dropped off for the day, it now sounds like we are going to see more of her this week as Daniela is letting us know this evening when she picks her up, so stand by for tomorrow, Friday and even Saturday! Then next week its Daniela’s wedding at the weekend so we are having ‘Reina’ on the Friday and Saturday for a sleep over.

As we were just about to go downstairs after freshening ourselves the ‘Skype’ video alert went off for an incoming call; It was Jack & Lyn safely back at home in Melbourne after their epic adventure driving around Australia anti-clockwise! We tried ringing them on Sunday morning with no luck; they arrived home late on Sunday evening after their unbelievable trip of 17,200kms!!

Only one puncture on the whole drive and the only bit of damage was when they drove into high winds outside Port Hedland on the ‘Indian Ocean’ coast coming down from Broome in ‘Western Australia’ - they lost their canvass awning off the caravan but did not know they had until somebody stopped them to point it out – they did not go back to find it!

The reason we have not been able to get in touch was that their PC/Modem was not working for the second half of the trip!

On the final leg of the journey across the ‘Nallabor Desert’ towards Adelaide Jack let Lyn drive as the sign said “ No trees for over 145kms! ” – It was also the longest straight road in their journey so Jack said it would be safe as she could not hit a tree!!

We are very proud of them and must congratulate them both on their fortitude and determination to take on the challenge and succeed – well done – “ Good On Ya! ” - as they say over there!

Before breakfast I took ‘Reina’ for her first walk of the day, here in sunny Manilva it was not so sunny as the thick sea mist had not yet cleared; the forecast for the rest of week and into the weekend is hot and sunny with temperatures in the mid 30s and higher.

So today we are having a nice quiet day at home taking things easy and catching up with some reading. This afternoon I will watch the ‘Tour De France’ on stage 16 from ‘Carcassonne to Bagneres–de-Luchon’ on the longest stage in the Tour over 237kms on their way to the ‘Pyrenees’ with a finish at the top of the ‘Port De Bales’

For supper this evening we are having ‘Chicken Schnitzels’ coated with fresh local breadcrumbs and ‘Spaghetti Milanaise’made with my famous tomato salsa and finely sliced Green Beans,mine topped with a fried Campo Egg’ and all Brenda’s food cooked dry and ‘Sin-Sal – no salt!’ Last night after supper we caught up with all the news and then channel hopped, much later on ‘TVE2’ I watched the live show from the “ Festival De Blues Cazorla ” which is outside Jaen in Northern Andalusia. My sort of music!

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
