MONDAY 28th
/ JULY 2014.
No lie in
this morning for the wicked as we have things to do and places to go; ‘Reina’
was dropped off for the day so after breakfast we went for a walk along Calle
Mar and Brenda called into the chemists to collect all her heart prescription
tablets.
This
morning after typing and posting the Blog I’ am making a fresh batch of my
famous ‘Tomato Salsa’
Last night
after supper which we all really enjoyed and after we had cleared up we went up
to watch the start of the local senior ‘Theater Group’s’ production on the
stage in front of the whole village; our local councilor Mario and his sister
in law, her husband and their daughter Marta, all from our street were in the
play, see the pictures above thanks to Antonia the Mayor.
At the
‘Hungarian Grand Prix’ yesterday it was one of the most thrilling races so far
this season as Lewis Hamilton stole the headlines after he started in the pit
lane, last, hit the wall on his first lap and ignored team orders to let
Rosberg pass him ( rightly so!) to end up third!! Daniel Ricciardo (Australian)
won after a passing Alonso with three laps to go.
Over in Paris in the final day of the ‘Tour De
France’ the Italian rider Vincenzo Nibali duly won his third Grand Tour
ie.Italy Spain and France !!
No plans so
far this week as we are waiting to hear when ‘Reina’ is with us again this week,it's going to be Thursday before the wedding at the weekend when she is with us on a sleep-over on Friday
and Saturday and also when ‘Scruffy’ is coming back?! Rose has just called and he's coming for a sleep-over on Wednesday and Thursday. Brenda has an appointment
at the hairdressers down in Sabinillas on Wednesday morning so we are going to do the shopping before.
The weather
forecast is still looking good, what else could it be at this time of the year,
with lots of sunshine and very hot over the coming weekend.
The late
film when we came back from watching a little of the play was the epic ‘Civic
War’ drama written and directed by Anthony Minghelia “Cold Mountain” from 2003
with a mega-cast of stars, Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Rene Zellweger, who won an
‘Oscar’ for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ Natalie Portman, the late Phillip Seymour
Hoffman, Donald Sutherland, Brenden Gleeson, Ray Winstone, Kath Baker and Jack
White (The White Stripes!) Don’t miss
it!!
For tonight’ supper we are using all the left
over from last night’s extravaganza to make an ‘Hors’d'oeuvre Platter!’ – Now
that reminds us of our very famous ‘Hors,d’oeuvre Trolley’back in the days of the
‘Hotel Seventy Degrees!!’ See the picture above. Later we will catch up with all the news, sport and
weather updates.
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
