FRIDAY 11th/
JULY 2014.
After a
good nights sleep despite the warmth we were up early and after grabbing a
quick breakfast we shot down to Sabinillas for the shopping and picked up the
papers at the same time; we are now back in the house and sorting ourselves out
for the weekend ahead, we are just taking things very easy and keeping Brenda
off her feet as much as possible, she is not back to 100% - its going to take a
little while, we are due to go and see our Doctor for a check up/update and
blood test and then back to the ‘Cardiology Consultant’ sometime next month.
Scruffy is
arriving at lunch time for a sleep-over, we have missed having him around, see the pictures below,
meanwhile Chispa came running up the street as we got back to the house and jumped into the car ready to go out, she loves the car! Next week Reina is back on Tuesday and Thursday to ‘Doggy World Heaven’!!

The weather
forecast is looking very good for the weekend and next week; its getting hotter
with the help of the ‘Lavante’ breeze from Africa – Brian is already looking
forward to not having the winter’s over in Finland with all those minus -15
temperatures, snow over the roof tops and always dark!
On the
menus front tonight we are having ‘Fillets of Hake Meuniere’ with Garden Peas
and Saffron New Potatoes; Tomorrow we have treated ourselves to a large
‘Entrecote’ steak which will keep very simple and then on Sunday Den &
Josie are coming around for supper as the sun goes down, we are having a
‘Smoked Chicken and local York Ham’ salad with a ‘Running’ buffet ( me from the
kitchen!) of Ensalillida Rusa,Egg Mayonnaise,Beef Tomato salad, Beetroot
vinaigrette, Salad Nicoise, Asparagus Hollandaise, crisp Mixed Leaf salad with
shredded Carrot, Parsley New Potatoes and anything else we can find to put out! The dessert is a
surprise but just lets say that’s it’s a Malcolm & Brenda ‘Classic ‘
production!
No plans
next week, so far, we have just got to get Brian back on the plane to Finland on Tuesday morning into the arms of
his ‘loved one!’ He will return!! I’ am waiting to hear if our new front door
shutter have arrived as I could pick them up from ‘Leroy Merlin’ while I’ am
over in Marbella dropping him off.
We are not going down to the beach in Sabinllas on Saturday evening for the 'Moon Festival' as it's a little too much walking for Brenda at the moment.
So this
afternoon I will watch the 7th stage of the ‘Tour De France’ as it
leaves one of our favorite towns Epernay in the heart of the Champagne region and travels across to Nancy with a few small hills in the way.
Of course
over the weekend it’s the Final of the ‘World Cup’ over in Brazil when Germany
play Argentina on Sunday evening, on Saturday Brazil play Holland for the third
place spot( a strange match to say the least!) – will the Brazilian supporters
turn out??!!
Last night
after supper we watched ‘Mr. Selfridge’ and tonight we will catch a film.
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
