A VERY WARM AND BREEZY SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY'

SUNDAY 6th/JULY 2014.

After a good nights sleep for all of us we awoke to another glorious day here in sunny Manilva with the added bonus of a little ‘Levante’ breeze! The forecast is looking very good for next week with it getting hotter as the breeze drops. We had our regular breakfast and then Carlos called in after playing a round of golf at ‘Casares’ ( 9 holes!) to pick Brian up

Then some friends of Sally Ann called in with their little miniature Dachshund - ‘Reina’( See the picture below )- Lee & Daniela live in Duquesa and both work in Gibraltar during the week, he’s in ‘IT’ and she is an accountant in the same firm, at the weekend she is a singer! We have lots of mutual friends as it turns out and at the beginning of August they are getting married in Gibraltar.

So we are going to look after their little ‘Princess’ in conjunction with their very good friend Barbara(and ours!) -  1/3 days a week starting on Tuesday; we will see how it goes and get her settled ASAP as on the weekend of the wedding she could be with us for a few days on a long sleep over! Like all our other dogs they have had problems with kennels.’ Scruffy’ is with us on Friday next week on a sleep over and this morning ‘Chispa’ came crashing in as they were here and made friends with her new ‘Girlfriend!’ We are also waiting to hear from another friend of a friend to see if we can look after little ‘Freddie – that’s it for now!!

We are having a very quite and relaxing day at home today, we are not going out for lunch and tonight its our favorite simple meal ‘Escalope of Turkey Breast’ - dry-cooked on the griddle with a dish of Savory ‘Basmati’ Rice, Diamond-cut Green Beans and a sauceboat of a creamy Mushroom sauce.

At lunchtime we watched on ‘TVE 1’ the start of the “ San Fermin ” festival from Pamplona – the bull runs start tomorrow morning; at the moment the ‘British Grand Prix’from Silverstone is just about to start and over on  the ‘TDP’ sports channel the second stage of the ‘Tour De France’ is already on its way from York to Sheffield – Mark Cavendish is out of the Tour and also the ‘Commonwealth Games’ later in the month when he rides for the ‘Isle of Man!’See above for today's stage.

Lewis Hamilton made up for yesterday's mistakes and won the 'British Grand Prix' In the 'Tour De France' the Italian rider 'Nibali' won the stage and took the 'Yellow Jersey' and meanwhile down at Wimbledon its 2 sets all !! DJOKOVIC HAS JUST WON !!

Yesterday over in North Wales in ‘Rhyd-y-Foel’ where we used to live our neighbors from opposite Wyn & Carol’s daughter got married to William, when we first met her she was just a little girl! “ Congratulations” to them both as they fly off to Mexico on their honeymoon –in the pictures you can see our old house in the background as they had a marquee in their garden!

Last night after supper I walked up our street to see a little of the ‘Theater’ show on the stage outside the Town Hall, see some picture above later, I bumped into Den & Josie so they came back to the house for a cool drink, we are going around to their apartment on Wednesday lunchtime for a ‘Al Fresco’ lunch – they are then coming around to us next Sunday for a light ‘Salad’ supper – ‘A La Sexton!’

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
