THURSDAY 10th/JULY
2014.
I’ve just
got back from taking Brian across to ‘La Linea De La Concepcion’ so as he could
go across into to Gibraltar to sign his contract with “ bet365.com” – he’s now officially an
employee of the company and starts work on the 11th August! I then
went and parked right next to the border in the ‘McDonalds’ car park and sat
inside with a cool drink in the air conditioning to wait for him as today its
very hot,34degs and going up to 36degs tomorrow!!
Earlier
this morning ‘Princess’ Reina was dropped off for the day, I took her for a
walk and later Brenda also went out for a short walk with her, she is adorable
and no problem, she loves being picked up and cuddled and has settled in with
us fine – see the pictures below.
So after
picking Brian up he took me to ‘La Bodeguiya’ for a light Tapas lunch as you
can see in the pictures above, it was Brian that first introduced us to it and
we now take all the family and friends there when they fly into Gibraltar; I
had the crispy warm Roast Leg of Pork and Brian had the Tuna and Bacarones – we
brought Brenda back the warm Pork in crispy toasted bread so as she did not
miss out!
While we
were driving back along the spectacular coast road past Soto Grande Lilli
phoned to say that Brian’s flight was booked back to Finland next Tuesday morning, this means
that they will have one month get them selves sorted with somewhere to live and
a car! Watch this space.
At
lunchtime on Facebook there was an update on Jack & Lyn’s adventure around
Australia from one of her daughter’s -
thanks Annette Rose for the information; they are in ‘Esperance’ at the
moment at the foot of Western Australia on the coast before they set off to
cross the ‘ Nullabah Desert’ towards Adelaide, then home!
We will
then be able to catch up with them on the Skype video as they have been out of
range for the last few thousand kms!
I’ am just
going to shoot downstairs to watch the end of stage 6 of the ‘Tour De France’
which today is from Arras to Reims ( our part of France and the capital of the Champagne region!)
Tonight for
supper we are having griddled Chicken Wings with salad and Baked Potatoes
before settling down to watch the next two episodes of ‘Mr. Selfridge’
Thought for
the Day; See above.
