A VERY HOT AND SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY;

WEDNESDAY 2nd/ JULY 2014.

It’s another fine and sunny day down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ with the forecast for the rest of the week and over the weekend getting hotter, not at all like Northern Spain where they have had severe rain storms and flash floods!

No lie in is necessary as we are going to bed a little earlier but never on the same day as we get up! You can’t break a habit of a lifetime!! We had our usual breakfast with Brian on his ‘Spanish Special’ then went for a very short walk around to the chemists in Calle Mar – very slowly – for my prescriptions and a check/update on Brenda’s Health Card.

Today Brian is working on getting his ‘CVs’ sent/printed as yesterday he met on his local travels down in ‘Bar Las Vinas’ another Brian - ‘Charlie’s’ dad and an old friend of our Brian’s – he works in Gibraltar and has lots of contacts, at the same time he bumped into Adrian – ‘Scruff’s’ dad who he also knows from his time here in the village and who of course works with his wife Rose in ‘IT’ in Gibraltar also – we told them about Brian coming over from Finland! It’s not what you know but who you know! It always helps!!

The routine now is to take things very easy all day, no unnecessary exhaustions, lots of rest and feet up reading and no excitement – keeping as tranquil as possible – making her do this is a bit of a challenge! More neighbors this morning stopping to ask after her health as they pass our front door which is always open.

‘Chispa’ has just come calling and is playing around my feet as I typing the Blog; no walks for her at the moment, next week ‘Scruffy’ will be back with us and I usually take him for his walks – we are looking forward to seeing him.

So in the evenings after supper we are normally watching the ‘World Cup’ football but there is a little break now until the next rounds over the weekend; of course on Saturday the ‘Tour De France’ starts – there will be extensive coverage on Spanish TV and I have downloaded the ‘Tour De France 2014’ web-page for all the stage details etc.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
