We all had a nice long lie in this morning
after all the excitement of yesterday festivities, ‘Pucci’ slept down stairs as
usual and ‘ Chico’ stayed on his bed all night with us, in the morning they
both wait while we freshen up and get ourselves ready to go out, for their
first walk of the day, around the bottom of the village, ‘ Chico’ is due be
collected tomorrow sometime. ( now later this morning!)
When we returned as I was on the breakfast
rota I had my favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘
HP’ Brown sauce – open on Brown for Brenda, with mugs of hot/strong tea.
The village is back to normal, with all the
shops and bars open and the Town Hall back in business, as here in Spain it’s
not an official ‘Bank Holiday’ Tomorrow morning I don’t need to go out on my
travels, down to Sabinillas, for the weekly shopping as we are stocked up! Which
is great news as we still don’t have the car back from the garage after it’s
repairs and re-taking the ‘ ITV-MOT’ test, over the ‘Xmas’ period, watch this
space.
We have yet another glorious day down here
on the ‘Costa Del Sol’ this morning, the sun was out first thing and the clouds
are clearing and the sky blue, there is just a slight breeze so by lunchtime it’s
due to reach 20 degs+ again, down to 14 degs during the night, from tomorrow,
as the breeze stiffens, its’ going a little cooler over the weekend and into
next week, hovering on the 16/17 degs mark, but still staying warm & sunny,
with a few patchy clouds, but more importantly staying dry, but with just a
small chance of some of the ‘Wet-Stuff’ possibly returning as we go into the
New Year – 2020! Watch this space.
‘Boxing Day’ over in the UK is a major
sports day; in the ‘Premiere League’ Everton welcome Burnley with their new ‘
Mega-Manager’ Carlos Ancelotti in charge for the first time, Liverpool travel
down the M6 to play an in-form Leicester City, as they defend their winning
streak, Manchester City will also be on the M6, at the same time, as the visit
Wolverhampton Wanderers, over here the over-paid footballers are on a two week
holiday, from the ‘La Liga’!
The ‘National Hunt Racing’ by tradition
comes from Kempton Park with the classic Grade 1 ‘ King George V1 Chase ‘ with
a field of the best champion ‘ chasers’ in the country, aged four years or
older, over 3 miles with eighteen fences!
This evening for our supper, guess what we
are having, yes, it’s cold sliced ‘Roast Turkey’ – which was very succulent,
juicy and very tasty, with all the left-over Vegetables & Potatoes, with
love our ‘ cold-cuts’ of any ‘Roast Meats! The ‘Menus’ for the weekend are
still TBC, watch this space.
Yesterday evening we made contact, as
arranged, with Sandra & Bill, over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, for a nice
new ‘Xmas’ catch up, then later after supper and watching the new one-off
special, of the excellent “ Gavin & Stacey “ with a huge surprise ending,
which I won’t tell you about, watch is to find out what happened, we called
them, again, on the ‘ Skype’ video, as all the family had then arrived, as you
can see in the picture below, from left to right, Nicola, Neil, Dylan, Kritika,
Lanner & Blake.
Thought for the Day; See above.
