A VERY ' CRISP' AND NOW SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.

TUESDAY 17th/ DECEMBER 2019.

I was up very early this morning to see little ‘ Miss Bella’ back with us for the day, after a quick freshen up I shot off down to Sabinillas, on the local bus, as the car is back in the garage after failing it’s ‘ITV - MOT’ yesterday, again, after the garage took it over to the test-station in Estepona, I needed some ‘documents ’ etc from our Bank, for another problem, I called into ‘ Take Five’ for quick tostado & tea, then the local bus didn’t reappear so I jumped into a taxi, back up to the garage, hopefully it will re-pass tomorrow after all the repairs ( quite a few/expensive parts ) - at the same time I called at a friend’s house, by the garage ,with the ‘documents’  for him to sort out ‘ ASAP’! Watch this space.

Overnight we had a heavy ‘RAIN’ storm, surprisingly yesterday it stayed dry, all day, this morning the stiff breeze is blowing down from the mountains behind the village, a ‘Lavante’ – so it’s very ‘ Crisp’ to say the least, the clouds are clearing and there is some blue sky showing, with more black clouds in the distance, so by lunchtime it’s only going to reach 13 degs+ - overnight as low as 8 degs,  tomorrow is looking the same, then we are in for a very windy ( Gale-Force ) few days with lots of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ – hovering in the mid/high ‘ teens’ before going sunny on Sunday!

Next ‘ Xmas Week’ is now forecast to be mixed, mainly sunny with a few patchy clouds, with just the threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ occasionally, still hovering in the mid/high ‘ teens’ – 15/16 degs+  over ‘ Christmas Day/Boxing Day ‘ ! “ Fingers Crossed “ Watch this space.

Yesterday afternoon our friend Andy called in to see us and tell us about his month’s holiday over in Thailand, you don’t need to know all the details! Only to say he had a ‘ Helluva’ time!!

See below some pictures that have just appeared on a local old/news ‘Facebook’ page about the village, it shows ‘ Calle San Vicente & Calle Mar’ a long time ago ( sadly no dates!)

At lunchtime on our walk with little ' Miss Bella' I called into the new ' Barbers'  shop in  'Calle Mar' - as we can't make it my usual shop in Estepona, due to the lack of a car, it turned out to be rather good, he was very professional, with warm towels, shaving with a cut-throat razor, scissors & clippers, a face & scalp massage and a soothing after balm, all for just my 'Goatee' beard! His choice of music, was also right ' George Thorogood and the Destroyers'  - with " Bad to the Bone " !!

We then stopped outside ' Bar Castillo' - on the sunny side of the street, in the warm sunshine, with a clear blue sky, for a nice cool drink.

For our supper this evening we are having ‘ Burgers ‘ – homemade from our local Butcher – ‘Beef, Pork & Chicken’ – one of each, Brenda is having her favourite ‘ Cheese Burger’ and I’m having a ‘Special Stack’ – topped with a ‘ Campo’ Fried Egg! – they both have crispy Coz Lettuce & Tomato, sliced Gherkins, seared Shallots & Crispy Smoked Bacon, on toasted ‘Burger Baps’ – accompanied  with ‘Heinz’ Tomato Ketchup! On the side triple-cooked ‘ Stringfellows’ served in Baskets!

We are taking things easy today, having a ‘ at home day’ – relaxing and keeping warm, we have the Oil Heater in the lounge, when we need it, all the fans have now been put away, the thicker duvet is coming out, as ‘ Darby & Joan’ huddle together!

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
