A ' FRESH' AND VERY GREY & OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY 18th/ DECEMBER 2019.

I was up early, again, this morning, to welcome back little ‘Miss Bella’ for another day, she’s back tomorrow also, this week, she shot upstairs and had a further lie in with us, after freshening up, as I was on the breakfast rota I had my favourite ‘ Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘ HP’ Brown sauce – open on brown for Brenda, with some sliced Baby Mushrooms, sautéed in the Bacon juices with a knob of Butter, with mugs of hot/strong tea.

Overnight the next cold, wet & windy ‘ Atlantic’ front that was due to hit us, slowed down as the wind dropped, so this morning we have just a light breeze, it’s still rather grey & overcast with the clouds hanging around,  the sun has not yet broken through, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 15 degs+ - tomorrow the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ is due to hit us, then on Friday, when I’m out on my travels, for our ‘Xmas Weekly’ shopping,  it’s going be very wet & windy, with ‘ Gale-Force’ winds! Over the weekend we are in for more of the same, going a little warmer as the wind drops, back up to 19/20 degs+  - overnight hovering on the 13/14 degs mark.

Next ‘Xmas Week’ is at the moment now looking a little bit more settled, with just the threat of the ‘ Wet-Stuff’ hanging around, with sunshine and patchy clouds, hovering in the mid/high ‘ teens’ – watch this space.

Meanwhile over in Everett, Ontario,Canada, they have had a 'Whiteout' this morning before Sandra set off for work, see below;

PS; She made it safe & sound into work!

After breakfast I then got this evenings supper on the go,  my now famous ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Tarragon Casserole ‘ – diced Chicken Breast, dusted in seasoned flour and browned off in Vegetable Oil, at the same time I sweated off the diced Onions, Shallots & Garlic and lots of Tarragon Herbs, with a dash of ‘Lea & Perrins’ Worcestershire sauce & Tabasco, then add the diced Leeks, Celery, Carrots and Baby Mushrooms ( tinned) along with a large ‘ Glug’ of Brenda’s White Wine, I then add a rich ‘ Chicken & Vegetable’ stock and adjust the seasoning, to taste, as well as adding some chopped Parsley, it’s then left to ‘ cook-off’ under the very capable ‘Eyes’ of the Second Chef! This evening we are going to top it off with ‘Puff Pastry’ lids!!  It will be accompanied with Glazed Carrot Batons & Garden Peas, with Parsley New Potatoes.

The aromas are wafting upstairs to the office/studio as I’m typing/ posting today’s Blog!

We are having an ‘ at home day’ as it’s not very inviting outside, we will relax and take things very easy, last night after supper we settled down to watch the last episode of ‘Gold Digger’ – watch is to find out what happened! This evening we be watching the Final of ‘ Master Chef: The Professionals’ – then later channel hopping to find a good film to watch.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
