A VERY WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY " CHRISTMAS DAY - DIA DE NAVIDAD "

WEDNESDAY 25th/ DECEMBER 2019, “ CHRISTMAS DAY – DIA DE NAVIDAD “

We managed a little lie in this morning and after a quick freshen up we took ‘ Pucci & Chico’ out for their first walk of the day around the bottom of the village, when we returned we had our ‘ Xmas Day Breakfast’ of ‘ Bucks Fizz ‘ – using a chilled bottle of  ‘Cava Freixenet’  and a local freshly squeezed Orange! I then made the ‘ Campo’ Scrambled Eggs on Toast with Smoked Salmon, simply beating the Eggs with salt & white pepper, then tossed into a hot pan with a knob of Butter, and stirred vigorously!

Meanwhile up in Magical Mojacar the ‘Moffatt’ family were having exactly the same, as we called them on the ‘ Skype’ video, for a nice catch up, they were spotted yesterday up in the mountains behind Mojacar, as you can see below, Tim, Jo ( flown in from Dubai) Thea & Ben ( flown in from Manchester)!

We then made contact with Norah & Jenny over in Runcorn, to wish them ‘ Happy Christmas ‘ – earlier this morning ( 1-30 am!) we called Lyn on the ‘Skype’ audio as early on ‘Christmas Eve’ she had a nasty accident, when she cut her foot, on the control peddle of Jack’s hospital bed, with lots of blood lost! She was rushed to hospital by ambulance, as the family looked after Jack, she was back home and feeling a lot better but still very tired, as well as having high/low Blood pressure, Jack is going into a ‘Respite Home’ for two weeks to give her a break, watch this space.

PS; This year, again, the family cards to Australia have not yet arrived, despite being posted well in time, sadly Jenny’s card from the UK has not yet reached us, here in sunny Manilva!

We have another fabulous day down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’- the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue and cloudless, there is just a slight breeze, so by lunchtime it will be 20 degs+ again! ‘Boxing Day’ ( not a Bank Holiday here in Spain) is looking the same, then from Friday and over the weekend it’s going a little cooler as the breeze pick up, next week leading into the ‘New Year’ it’s going to be dry & settled, hovering in the mid/high ‘ teens’ - just in time for the weekend celebrations on the 4th January 2020, for the arrival of the “ Three Kings- Dia de los Reyes “  festivities and parades.

At lunchtime our friend Leah and her son Deemy, joined us for celebration drink of Cava, with some nibbles, they were going for their ‘ Christmas Lunch’ with a friend in the village later.

This evening, at 6-00 pm we have arranged a ‘ Skype’ video link up with Sandra & Bill and all the family, over in Everett, Ontario, Canada, for a catch up with all their news etc, as they start their day of drinking, eating, signing and being merry!

We will then have our ‘ Christmas Banquet’ of ‘ Roast Crown of Turkey’ with a savour ‘Chestnut & Mixed Herb’ stuffing and ‘Pigs in Blanket’- accompanied with my famous ‘ Finger-Licking’ Pan Gravy! Served with Honey Glazed Roast Parsnip Batons, Baby Carrots en Branch, Baby  Brussels Sprouts with Smoked Bacon and Garden Peas, not forgetting my famous ‘ Goose-Fat Roast Potatoes’!!

After supper we will settle down to watch the new one-off special of the excellent series of “ Gavin and Stacey “ on BBC TV – with the original mega-cast all returning after 10 years!

This morning on the ‘ Andrew Charles Breakfast Show’ on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW ‘ he played a track for us to dance to.

Thoughts for the Day;  See above.
