A STILL VERY WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY - " CHRISTMAS EVE - NOCHEBUENA " 2019.

TUESDAY 24th/ DECEMBER 2019.  “ CHRISTMAS EVE – NOCHEBUENA “

Just a little lie in this morning, the village was quieter than normal, no children on their way school, no deliveries, no neighbours gossiping, so after freshening up we took ‘Pucci’ & ‘ Chico’ out for their first walk of the day, ‘Pucci’ as usual, slept all night downstairs on the settees and his bed, ‘Chico’ as usual, came upstairs and slept on his put-up bed, they are both very well behaved, eating well and into the routine, over the weekend little ‘ Winnie’ – the small Black Pug, that used to stay with us in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’ arrived in Dubai, just in time for Xmas, to be with her family!

When we returned we had a quick toast & tea before getting all the preparations on the go, for tomorrow ‘ Christmas Banquet’ – the ‘ Crown of Turkey’ went in the oven to roast, resting on a bed of assorted Vegetable ‘Trivets’ – I made the ‘Chestnut & Mixed Herb Stuffing’ – we bought the hot ‘Castañas – Chestnuts ‘ from the roasting-stall last night, to go in the oven later, after the  ‘Turkey ‘ is ready, I will then make my famous ‘ Finger-Licking’ Pan Gravy.

Meanwhile the ‘ Second Chef’ was preparing the Whole Baby Carrots en ‘Branch’ and the Parsnips Batons, the Baby Sprouts with Bacon will be cooked ‘ A La Minute’ tomorrow, as well as my famous ’Goose Fat Roast Potatoes’!

And after!

After yesterdays beautiful warm & sunny day, today is looking the same, the sun was out early and the sky has cleared and is bright blue, so by lunchtime it’s due to reach 20 degs+ - tomorrow ‘ Christmas Day & Boxing Day’ are staying the same, the rest of the week and over the weekend it will be dry & sunny, hovering in the mid ‘ teens’ at 17/18 degs – overnight down to 12/13 degs, next week is also now forecast to be settled, dry & sunny leading into the ‘New Year’ – 2020! Watch this space.

For our supper this evening I have treated us to ‘Rump Steaks’ – grilled on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare ‘ – pink no blood, garnished with seared Asparagus Spears & Button Mushrooms – then topped with ‘ Campo’ Fried Eggs! – served with finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans and of course triple-cooked ‘ Frits’

We are now taking things very easy for the rest of the day, relaxing, with nothing else to do, going for our walk at lunchtime, then settling down in front of the TV – as usual, all the old films are on everywhere, later we will channel hop to find something else to watch!

See below some more requests for ‘Santa Clause’ this year – if only! The problem being getting one down the chimney!!
