We had a surprise lie in this morning as the workmen did not
arrive; the village is quiet as the children have not broken up from school for
the long summer recess and also its ‘hangover’ time after the weekend’s
festivities!
After breakfast we sorted ourselves out for the week ahead,
in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ this week ‘Reina’ is with us as usual on Tuesday &
Thursday and ‘Scruffy’ is already here today and is back on Friday lunchtime.
‘Chispa’ has been around all weekend and will no doubt be calling in everyday
as usual.
At lunchtime we went for a short walk with 'Scruffy & Chispa' along Calle Mar & back. The workmen arrived just after lunch and then made as much noise as they could for the rest of the afternoon. See the pictures above.

So on Wednesday we are going over to Marbella for some
‘retail’ shopping and Brenda is arranging to have the ‘full works’ at her
hairdressers on Thursday, on Friday morning we will go down to Sabinillas for
our weekly shopping expedition and of course we are out on Sunday for Brenda’s
‘Birthday Lunch’ at “Cocomo” – a day
ahead of her birthday next Monday 22nd when we are hoping to go to Bar Rojas for
lunch if they are still open, as late in the evening we are picking Josie up
from the bus station over in Marbella after her flight from ‘up north’ in
Skelton via Manchester!
Last night I used the new kitchen for the first time with
all the 4 gas burners on the go and the extraction hood on ‘full blast’ mode –
happy days! See the results below!! This evening the ‘Assistant Chef’ is in charge of the Chicken Curry
and Basmati Rice along with Garden Peas & the Nan Bread! We are having our
weekly planning meeting later to sort out the menus! Watch this space.
The monthly ‘Pensions have started to arrive this morning
and are a little down overall on last months as the ‘Euro’ is down, I blame the
‘Greeks’! Hopefully it will pick up before the next two are due!
The new Councillors, all new faces and totally unproven,
having never been in government before, and the Mayor ‘Diego Jose Jimenez’ have
taken over the running of the local government this morning along with all the
various departments so we are waiting for confirmation of the dates later in
June and over the next few months of the normal festivities i.e. ‘San Juan’
Band Consort, Full Moon celebrations, etc. Watch this space.
Yesterday evening we watched the football on ‘TVE 1’ as
Spain won 0-1 & then the high lights as England won 2-3 in the Qualifying
rounds of the 2016 ‘European Championship’ In the ‘Catalunya Motor GP’ up in
Barcelona Lorenzo won again and in Cycling Chris Froome is in form before the
‘Tour De France’ starts on the 4th July!
After supper his evening we will catch up with all the news,
sport and weather details/forecast for the week ahead – at the moment its clear
and dry in sunny Manilva unlike the rest of Spain which is suffering severe
thunder storm’s, rain & hail!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
