We were up
before the workmen arrived this morning and after a quick breakfast we shot
down to Sabinillas for the weekly shopping; today is the hottest day this week
as we are braking the 30degs mark later, the weekend looks good and its more of
the same next week and getting a littler warmer.
Yesterday
afternoon we were hit with the concrete being delivered on the site as they had
gone full pelt again in the morning on finishing the shuttering around the
pillars, so this morning it’s the usual knocking down with the most noise as
possible!
See the pictures above of the exposed new pillars, next it will be the walls/ceiling before the roof!!

As were out
of the roof terrace for the start of our ‘Happy Hour’ I asked the foreman Diego
about the air vents from our new back kitchen, he jumped over the balcony and
came down to check them out and then took me into the new building, with a hard
hat on, to show me where they come out and that it’s a clear space with none of
the new building against it! A small result!!
So we hit
Sabinillas, our first stop was at the bank, then the ‘Ferraterias’ for some
light bulbs and a igniter for the gas hob, we then called into the ‘English
Bookshop’ for the newspapers, exchanged some books and I found Brenda’s
birthday card. We then did our main shop in ‘Mercadona’ – on the large fish
counter they had some lovely fresh whole ‘Rodaballo – Turbot’ which was not
expensive and also some local fresh ‘Langoustines’ – so that’s tonight’ supper
sorted! We then shot along the promenade to the market at the far end for the
fresh flowers & some plants.
After unpacking
I went along to the chemists for some of my prescription tablets, Brenda has
just now shot along as I had a problem, it seems the relief Doctor has not
posted them correctly, so Brenda is checking hers out to be sure! Hers are ‘OK’
but mine needs sorting!
At
lunchtime ‘Scruffy’ is due for the afternoon & ‘Chispa’ is at the moment
running in and out as she is playing in the street.
In Brenda’s
birthday cards that arrived yesterday Brenda’s sister Norah had been on Anglesey over in North Wales so she has enclosed the ‘ultimate’
post card from, wait for it! All
together now!!

So after
our special ‘Fish Supper’ of ‘Baked Rodaballo’ with Garden Peas and a few
Saffron New Potatoes this evening, we are going down to watch the ‘Manilva School
of Music’ end of term concert on the large roof terrace on top of the police
station.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
