We had a
nice lie in this morning with no disturbances from outside, well its Sunday!
Then for a breakfast treat we had ‘Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty’s’ topped with a
‘Campo’ Fried Egg & a mug of steaming tea, we are now ready to take on the
World, well at least sunny Manilva.
A little
bit of sad/good news as Rose is due to retire shortly and Adrian is going part
time at work, which means that we won’t be seeing as much of ‘Scruffy’ in the
future; we are really going to miss him as he’s a beautiful dog, a real
character and a joy to have with us, he follows me everywhere and we both love
him to bits, they have promised that we will see him again and be able to look
after him from time to time.
Tomorrow
he’s back with us early as Rose is going across to a hospital in Malaga for a scan/check up and then under
the new regime he’s with us on Saturday & Sunday afternoon for a short
time. ‘Reina’ is here as normal on Tuesday & Thursday as well as Sunday for
the day! This morning ‘Chispa’ came along with us and joined in with the
parade!
The sun is
out and the sky is blue, there is a gentle breeze that makes it rather
pleasant, there is more of the same to come next week; so we then smartened our
self’s up and went out to follow the ‘Corpus Christi’ parade through the
village, the whole village takes part as the Padre blesses the ‘Flower Alters’
set up in the streets, all the first communion children take part dressed in
their White Communion’ best uniforms & dresses with the parents also in
their finest.
It’s a very
friendly and local festival which shows the village at its best – both Diego’s
were there, as parents, I congratulated one and gave our condolences to the
other, one said thanks and the other said thanks – we will be back?! See the
pictures above of the parade.
Later we
are going up to Bar Rojas for a Lumy ‘Paella’ lunch sat under the Sonbrajo
taking in the sites and sounds as well as the smells (cooking) of sunny Manilva
– I will pop along Calle Mar to pick up our Roast Chicken from the ‘Rotisserie’
shop later. We are having a nice ‘Brenda’ Mixed Salad with Parsley New Potatoes
for our supper this evening.
Last night
we of course watched the Final of the ‘Champions League’ from the impressive
Olympic Stadium in Berlin as ‘BARCELONA’ beat Juventus 3-1 – it could have been
a lot more as the Italian goalkeeper, Buffon
made some spectacular saves! The village was rather quiet after the
result as mostly they and the main bars in Calle Mar support Real Madrid, later
there was some car horns blowing and fireworks as some Barcelona supporters
came back up to the village!!
This
afternoon later we will be back up on the roof terrace for our ‘Happy Hour’
then` after supper we will watch a film, if we can find one
.
.
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
