We had a
nice surprise this morning as the workmen have not arrived so we were able to
have a nice lie in after yesterday’s celebrations for the ‘Birthday Girl’!
As we
getting freshened up we were listening to ‘Castle Radio FM 89.2’ when the
presenter Andrew Charles sent Brenda ‘Birthday Greetings’ live on air and in a
long radio spot talked about her picture yesterday on Facebook and then played
‘Brown Eyed Girl’ for her! Thanks Andrew for the mention, it was a very nice
surprise to the start of the day.
On Facebook
the picture of Brenda has had lots of ‘Likes’ and also messages from family,
friends and locals, mine is also receiving some!! Also 'Facebook' posted a picture of Brenda on her 70th birthday,two years ago on their new 'Memories' link. The E-Mails are starting to arrive and text
messages on her Mobile from her sisters over in the UK .Oh and yes the birthday card from Lyn over in Australia arrived in Mondays' post ten days after she posted it!
After
breakfast I shot along to the local bank to top up the funds and also pick up
some of my prescriptions from the chemists; it’s already very hot in sunny
Manilva and it looks like we are in for a hot week. We are having an easy day
just doing nothing, because we can, the ‘Birthday Girl’ is also taking it nice
and easy for the day, it’s her official ‘Day Off’!
Later I
have a very nice chilled bottle of a fine ‘Cava’ to toast ‘Brenda Rose’ – we
are having a light lunch and then for tonight’s supper we are having a small
‘Fish Platter’ – fresh local Gambas, Salmon Croquettes & Breaded
Langoustines with a Mixed salad and no potatoes! ( D Day)
At
lunchtime ‘Scruffy is due for the afternoon, at the moment ‘Chispa’ has just
come crashing in and is playing around my feet ‘Reina’ is with us on Tuesday
& Thursday.Sadly this is 'Scruffy's' last day with us,except for 'high days & holidays' - as Rose retires this week and Adrian is on part time.we are going to miss him loads as we love him ,he's a real character and a joy to have with us and such good company! He will return!!
Mano & Anna called in at lunchtime,they have not been around for a few weeks so we had a good old gossip and catch up.

We are
collecting Josie from the bus station over in Marbella this evening, a little earlier than
we thought at 10-45pm and Den is arriving on Saturday; Josie is taking us out
for lunch on Wednesday to the ‘KE’ Bar in Sotogrande as her birthday present
for Brenda.She arrived early in Malaga so caught a bus to Estepona,safe but tired - see below;
As we came back up to the village, after parking the car, outside Bar Rojas there was a party going on for some locals.friends & customers,so we were invited to join them for a night cap to finish off Brenda's birthday celebrations! I ended up drinking a shot of something rather strong with a Dutch couple that live next to the bar!
A 'Den'production;
