THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY FROM SUNNY MANILVA / A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY;

I was up early this morning to welcome back ‘Reina’ for the day, the workmen arrived on time and are now making a ‘Helluva’ noise as the build the shuttering on the 2/3^rd floor ready for the concrete later in the week; before breakfast Brenda shot down to the local Post Office to post a birthday card – watch out it could be you?!

Well the workmen went full pelt all day and at 5-30pm the concrete arrived to lay the 2/3rd floor,we think that there is 1 more floor to go above our roof terrace - watch this space!!

After breakfast I shot around to our butchers for something for supper this evening, we are having ‘Baked Pork Chops’ – cut thick ‘English’ style with glazed ‘Fuji’ Apple slices and Brenda is back in heaven as we are having fresh local,Crushed Baby Carrots & Turnips, sliced Green Beans along with Baked Potatoes ( local Whites) See below;

Today is going to be a hot one in sunny Manilva as the sun was out early and the sky is bright Blue, by lunchtime it will be 28/29degs and the forecast for the week ahead and over the weekend is for it getting warmer!

Some sad news from North Wales this morning as a friend from Rhyd-Y-Foel, where we used to live, has passed away peacefully this morning – Carol, who has been ill for many years, but never complained was always full of life and our thoughts to her husband and family go out at this very sad time. Her daughter Amanda who we knew as a young girl is expecting her first baby next week.

I’ve just spoken to Tim & Thea over in Old Colwyn to pass on the news, Thea is off work and has been suffering bad headaches for some time so she is going to see a private consultant next week as the North Wales Hospital system has let them down! We are thinking about you and will be in touch next week – love Malcolm & Brenda xxxx

So later this afternoon we will attempt to go up on the roof terrace for our ‘Happy Hour’ cocktails, workmen permitting, then after supper we will channel hop to find something to watch; last night we found a film, a crime thriller, based in New Orleans “12 Rounds” from 2009 – we could still recognizes some places around the city including the iconic steel bridge in the car chase! John Cena,Ashley Scott,Aidan Gillen, as the baddie & Brian J.White are all excellent in the gripping tale, watch out for the classic New Orleans tram/street car!!
