Well
another nice lie in this morning with just the sound of the birds on what is
going to be a very hot & sunny Manilva as we are out and about down here on
the ‘Costa Del Sol’ celebrating Brenda’s birthday- she’s a bit like the ‘Queen’
– two birthdays – one today and the official one tomorrow!
We had a
nice surprise Skype video call from Jack & Lyn over in Melbourne, we had a
good long chat and catch up with all their news, all ours is of course on the
Blog; they are both very well, Jack had a bad chest infection but is now back
to his normal happy self! One of Lyn’s great grandchildren had a nasty accident
playing ‘Australian Rules Football’ – Beth is now on the road to recovery after
being knocked out with bleeding on the brain! Get well soon Beth – lots of
love.
This year
its Lyn’s 80th birthday in December so all the large family on both
side are planning to get together, not forgetting that Jack is 87 years young!
Later in the year they are going on a road trip with their caravan up the Gold
Coast for a friends weeding. Love to you both.
We also had
another surprise when I opened the E-Mails as there was on from our dear
friends Kelvin & Gaye who are on holiday in the USA, they are just about to
drive down the ‘Big Sur’ from San Francisco to Los Angels where they are going
to celebrate Gaye’s ‘Big’ birthday on the 26th – a very ‘Happy
Birthday’ Gaye – have one on us!
After our
last breakfast treat of crispy ‘Smoked Bacon’ butties with HP sauce we are
sorting ourselves out for the day ahead, the outfits are ready so we are
showering and pampering our self’s before we head out along the coast for a
nice glass of chilled ‘Cava’ and then our Roast Sunday Lunch at “ Cocomo ”
Watch out for the pictures later. Then this evening we are going up to Bar
Rojas for Lumy & Manolo’s leaving/retirement surprise party at 8-00pm!
Well we have had 'Helluva' Day for the start of Brenda's birthday celebrations; we started in the 'H10' Hotel over in Estepona for a nice chilled glass of their best 'Cava' before heading of to the 'Cocomo' Restaurant for our Sunday lunch.
We had a very nice 'Cava Rosado' to start,we both selected the Prawn Cocktail with Smoked Salmon to start followed by Roast Sirloin of Aged Beef with Yorkshire Pudding along with the 'Aldente' vegetable selection of the day.every thing was first class, the Beef was to die for and the Gravy was finger licking! Brenda had a glass of the house Sauvigon Blanc followed by a friendly glass of the house Rioja while I had a very friendly 'Cuba Libre' See the pictures above.
Sat next to us were a a very nice couple that we soon got talking too, Dave & Angie from Hull. we soon found that we had things in common i.e. Hotels & Railways - as they are still in the hotel/restaurant business in Hull and Dave was in the Railway business for many years; they have an Penthouse Apartment next to the Bull Ring behind Puerto Banus and have been coming down here for many years.
We ended up having another drink with them, the excellent 'House Cava Rosado' went down a treat - thanks to Dave & Angie - we hope to catch up with you again - kind regards & thanks!!
We have just staggerd back down from Bar Rojas after Lumy & Manolo's leaving party where the drinks were flowing, the bar was full and they had a very nice Buffet along with a special hot Tapas made by Diego with marinated Pork in a rich Sherry salsa with Onions & Pine Nuts! Seven years has soon passed by' Lumy got very tear full when we gave her her flowers & card and gave a very nice speech of thanks - see the pictures above of then with their two sons Diego & Paco along with Diego's girlfriend Maria and their Cousin, another Maria!
Just a short Blog today as we are out playing all day; see the picture below taken yesterday by a Spanish friend from the hills above San Roque, just down the coast, across to the hills behind Tangier in Morocco showing the Mediterranean, on the left, meeting the Atlantic on the right! When we where in Tangiers’s a few years ago I posted the same picture on the Blog but the other way around!!
