A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA,JUST, ON MONDAY MORNING AT THE START OF THE WEEK;

MONDAY 27th/ APRIL 2015.

Just a little lie in this morning as the sound of the gas bottle delivery man woke us, it’s still rather overcast at the moment but the signs are looking good for it picking up later and the forecast for the start of the week is also a lot better.

We had are usual breakfast and then sorted out the menu’s for the week ahead. This evening we are having ‘Cold Roast Pork’ with a fry-up of the leftover vegetables & potatoes, on Tuesday its going to be ‘Calves Liver with Smoked Bacon & Pork Sausages’ - on Wednesday evening we are having Grilled ‘Gammon Steak’ before on Thursday ‘Pea Frittata’ - Friday fish night dish will be a ‘Seafood Risotto’ before our regular Saturday ‘Steak Night’ Sunday TBC!

‘Reina’ is back with us in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ on Tuesday & Thursday and we are waiting to hear when ‘Scruffy’ is coming around later in the week, on Wednesday we are out & about in Estepona and then on Friday morning down in Sabinillas for our weekly shopping; no invites, at the moment, for the theater etc! We are starting to get election ‘goodies’ from the various local parties, yesterday it was a nice umbrella from the ‘Compromiso Manilva’party!

Yesterdays football results; Real Madrid won 2-4 but the result of the day was when Everton has a terrific win at home to Manchester Utd, winning 3-0 – making the two Brian’s ( Big & Liverpool) very happy ‘chap’s’!

The ‘Pensions’ have started to arrive in our Spanish bank account and with the small UK Government increase and the ‘Euro’ remaining strong are up a little on last months!  ( Now spent - see below)!!

At lunchtime we went for a walk with 'Chispa' as Brenda wanted some more 'pop socks' from the new Ladies Fashion shop in Calla Iglesia,I ended up having to go up to the cash machine for some more cash as Brenda had spotted  a Kaftan,a White top, a pair of 'Harem' pants and a necklace !! See the picture below of 'Chispa' with her new 'cut' and a new ' Espana Bandana' !!

We had a very nice surprise later this afternoon when the front door bell went and sat outside in his ' White Mazda Coupe Cabriolet'' was 'Big Bri'- he called to take us out for a drive and so we ended up in Casares ,we walked down into the village and sat in the 'Plaza de Espana' for a nice cool drink along with a good catch up with all his news.

Brian is looking very good,he's lost some weight as well as his beard and is now settled into his new life style ,living in the village and working in Gibraltar, he's in a good frame of mind and relaxed and positive about his future,great news, we are very happy for him. He called back in later, after dropping us off, for an 'Happy Hour' drink with us! Onwards and upwards for 2015!!  See the pictures above of the sleepy village at its best.

Meanwhile over in Australia it was Jack’s birthday last week and today its Lyn’s daughter, Annette Rose birthday – see the picture below of Jack & Lyn celebrating with her and Deb, Lyn’s other daughter last week! Lots of love to all the extended family around Australia; Lyn’s son Jeff and his wife Annette are now back living in Brisbane as he has retired and returned from his job in Kuala Lumpur.

Last night after supper we channel hopped and found a good film to watch “Changeling” from 2008,it was produced, scored and directed by Clint Eastwood, it stars Angelina Jolie as the mother who goes through the heartbreak of loosing her young son, who is then supposedly reunited with a boy but quickly realizes that it isn’t her missing son! Child endangerment, female disempowerment, political corruption, mistreatment of mental health patients and the repercussions of violence follow!!

It is based on actual events and people and takes place in 1928 in Los Angeles, the visual effect are particularly stunning including the original ‘Pacific Electric Railway’ streetcars that are part of the movie,see the picture below, catch it if you can!!

Thoughts for the Day ; See above.
