We were up
early this morning and after grabbing a quick breakfast we then shot down to the
under ground car park for the car; it’s grey and overcast and very windy, as
forecast, later on the way home we ran into some heavy rain and back in sunny
Manilva it was pouring down as we walked back up to the house as Calle Mar is
still closed.
The ‘Costa
Del Sol Hospital’ on the far side of Marbella’ was particularly busy this morning,
my ‘Prostrate Consultant’ is always very nice and gives you the news as you
walk in – my ‘PSI’ readings have stabilized so I don’t need another check up
for 8 months, just before Xmas! Great
News – time to celebrate!!
I’ve just
made the ‘Chicken &Mushroom Tarragon Casserole’ for this evenings supper;
my special recipe with some secret ingredients has small diced ( Brunoise) of
Onions,Carrots,Celery,Leeks,Red & Green Peppers and Baby Mushrooms quartered!
The cubed Chicken Breast is tossed in seasoned flour and lightly cooked off
then added to the vegetables that have been sweating off in a good ‘glug’ of
Brenda’s White Wine!
I then add
a rich Chicken & Vegetable stock and leave the pan in the very capable
hands of the ‘Assistant Chef’ to skim and simmer. I will adjust the seasoning
and consistency this evening. The ‘Vegetable Chef’ – one hat, two jobs! – has
prepared Whole Baby Carrots, Diamond Cut Green ‘Runner’ Beans and Parsley New Potatoes.
The ‘Aromas’ are wafting upstairs into the office as I’m typing the Blog!
The picture
below of the ‘Manilva Brass Band’ was taken outside the church and by the School of Music on Sunday
morning as they prepared to lead the final two processions, you can see that
the majority of the band is very young, they all come from the village and
family members join and carry on the tradition of playing the same instruments;
at the moment Mario, our local Councilor, youngest son has just joined and is
playing the Clarinet along side his cousin Marta, from out street. The Leader
and ‘Head of the School of Music ’ ‘Fernando Antinolo’ is a “Professesore of
the Malaga Conservatoire” on the Clarinet!
This
evening after supper we will catch up with all the news, sport and weather
details before finding something to watch, last night the Spanish ‘Master Chef’
re-started for the third year on TVE 1(like BBC TV 1)
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
