I was up
early this morning, in fact before the workmen arrived, ‘Reina’ was dropped off
by Lee, and she’s here for the day and back on Thursday as usual, she is now
also joining us on Friday lunchtime and stopping for a sleep over until
Saturday evening, which is nice as ‘Scruffy’ is not with us this week as Adrian
is off sick.
The weather
today is a little overcast as a small front has blown in from the
Mediterranean, it means that a Atlantic front has been forced away from us and
is now hitting Northern Spain, tomorrow its settling down and the sun and clear
blue skies are back with us in sunny Manilva; over the weekend its also getting
warmer with the temperatures reaching 27/28degs!
So we are
having an at home day, taking things easy, later we will go for a walk with
‘Reina’ & ‘Chispa’after we collect her as she’s not let out as the road is
closed and the demolition ‘JCB’ is working in one of the streets where she
plays!
For supper
this evening we are having “Escalope of Pork Schnitzels” using breadcrumbs from
the local Bakery, Diamond cut Green Beans and ‘Spaghetti Milanese’ using my
Tomato Salsa; I’m finishening mine ‘Holstein’ style with garnished with Cappers
& Anchovy fillets, topped with a Campo Fried Egg! Lots of Lemon wedges on
the side!!
On ‘TVE I’
this evening it’s the Second Leg of the ‘Champions League’ Quarter Finals as
Barcelona welcome Paris St.G 1-3 down after the first leg.
Last night
we watched after the news on ‘TVE 1’ – so with no 7 minute adverts – “The
Patriot” from 2000 with Mel Gibson and a young and the late Heath Ledger in a
very moving story of a father with seven children, which takes place in the ‘American
Revolutionary War’ of the 1770s against the British; its based on real-life
events and factual figures but it attracted controversy over its fictional
portrayal of the historical figures and the atrocities depicted. Chris Cooper,
Jason Isaacs, Tom Wilkinson,Tcheky Karyo and the very watchable Joely
Richardson are in the excellent supporting cast, plenty of hankies are needed!
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
