We had a
nice lie in this morning after all the excitement over the weekend, its our
last for this week as ‘Reina’ is here early on Tuesday & Thursday, we are
at the hospital on Wednesday morning over in Marbella for my appointment to see
the ‘Prostrate Consultant for my results (fingers crossed) and on Friday
morning its our weekly shopping down in Sabinillas.
So after
our normal breakfast we shot along to the Opticians in Calle Mar as over the
weekend Brenda had a slight accident with her glasses, they have gone away to
be repaired, we then picked up our prescriptions from the Chemists – keep
taking the ‘Tablets’ is the motto for today!
Today is a normal working day here in sunny Manilva, its not an official Bank Holilday, so everything is back to normal.
This
morning the Council painters have started to re-paint the surface of Calle Mar
with the Grey water resistant paint, they will then come along and re-paint all
the road markings and crossings, they will have to hurry as the forecast for
the start of the week was wind and rain, the wind has arrived but not the rain
just yet!
When we
returned we took ‘Chispa’ out for a little walk around the ‘Plaza de la
Vendima’and she is now playing around the house, she’s still on ‘lock down’ for
the time being as the local wild dogs are still hanging around!
We have just
had our weekly Menu planning meeting; this evening its ‘Cold Turkey’ with a
fry-up of the leftover vegetables & potatoes, on Tuesday we are having
‘Baked Pork Chops’ then on Wednesday when we return from the hospital I’m going
to make a ‘Chicken & Mushroom Tarragon Casserole’ Thursday its going to be
a ‘Frittata’ before the ‘Last Supper’ on Friday evening when Den & Josie
are joining us for a special ‘Seafood Risotto’ as they are going on a ‘State
Visit’ to Malaga over the weekend before flying home. Saturday night is ‘Steak
Night’ and then on Sunday we are going to have ‘Escalope of Turkey Breast’
Over the
weekend in the football Arsenal beat Liverpool 4-1, Everton won 1-0 and over here Barcelona won 0-1 but the result of the
weekend was when Real Madrid beat Granada 9-1 with Ronaldo scoring 5 goals
including a hat trick in 8 minutes in the first half! Manchester City plays this evening.
After
supper this evening we will catch up withal the news, sport and the latest
weather updates before settling down to fins something to watch.
Thoughts
for the day; See above.
