A CRISP & DRY SUNNY MANILVA ON ' BLACK FRIDAY' AT THE START OF THE WEEKEND.

FRIDAY 23rd/ NOVEMBER 2018.    “ BLACK FRIDAY “

I was up very early this morning and after freshening up I saw little princess ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day and a sleep-over, she shot upstairs into her duvet, outside the office/studio, I then set off on my travels, down to Sabinillas, for the weekly shopping, I called into ‘ itZabar’ for a quick toast & tea before ‘Mercadona’ opened.

I then stopped at the ‘ English Bookshop’ for the local newspapers before going along to far end of the promenade to the local market for the fresh flowers & wall plants, on the way back up the hill I popped into ‘ Super Sol’ for the ‘ English essentials, finally I unloaded back at the house before putting the car away.

As I set off this morning it was cloudy, grey & overcast, with a ‘ chill’ in the air, the sun was attempting to break through over the calm Mediterranean, as the sky cleared a little and the light breeze dropped, it looked like the wet-stuff had moved on, by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 18 degs+ - overnight down to 8 degs! ( bedroom Oil Heater?!)  The weekend is looking settled with just the slight threat of the ‘ wet-stuff’ on Sunday, next week is showing ‘ Rain Free ‘ on all the forecasts, getting a little warmer overall, sunny with patchy clouds, by next weekend hovering on the 21 degs+ mark, the wall-plants can go back out again, watch this space.

See below the beach view down in Sabinillas this morning as the storm clouds moved on.

Yesterday evening we went down to the ‘Theatre’ ( 200 hundred seats) above the Wine Centre, we picked up our tickets and settled down to watch the ‘Latin Music’ concert, it turned out to be a Quintet of professional musicians, two from Cuba, one from Argentina and two Spanish, on Piano, Double Bass, Drums & Saxophones ( Alto & Tenor) playing “ Modern Jazz “ with a ‘Latin-Fusion’ influence! All ‘ masters’ of their instruments, improvising at times, with the individual’s playing solo spots, a very nice surprise with some spectacular playing!

When we returned we treated ourselves to ‘ Heinz Baked Beans’ on Toast, for supper, this evening we are having, fresh from the Market, ‘Grilled Tail-End of Salmon ‘ accompanied with ‘ Hollandaise’ sauce and served with ‘Mange Tout ‘ ( ‘Aldente’ ) & Baby New Potatoes in their skins. On Saturday it’s going to a large ‘Grilled Rib of Beef- on the Bone’ – sliced into fingers ‘ French’ style with all the trimmings, then on Sunday we are having Pan-Seared ‘ Medallions of Pork Fillet’ with ‘ Stuffed Peppers and ‘Pommes Lyonnaise ‘

It’s a ‘at home day’ as it’s still very crisp out, we are catching up with the chores and then relaxing, as usual doing nothing, because we can, later we will settle down to watch TV and channel hop to find a good film to watch after the regular programmes.

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
