We were up
bright and early this morning as the sound of the workmen clearing the rubbish
from the ‘Casa De Torres’ development at the bottom of our street, it's the latest
sound! After breakfast and a quick freshen up we shot out on our travels down
here on the ‘Costa
Del Sol ’
The weather
forecast for today was clear blue skies and sunshine, it was right, in fact by
lunchtime it was very hot and the temperature reached 23/24degs! We have more
of the same for the rest of the week and over the weekend; it’s the most
glorious, beautiful day here in sunny Manilva and along the coast, the Mediterranean is shimmering and the mountains are
looking spectacular, the views down to Gibraltar and across to the ‘Rif ’ mountains of Africa are also very clear.
I called
into the bank and then we started on our planned route, in the first charity
shop I found a couple of 1 Euros shirt, a Cardigan for me and a ‘Cocktail
Shaker’ for Mano, for his new Cocktail Bar in his house! At the next charity shop
it was half price day so I ended up with two Hermes Silk Ties for 3 Euros, we
also found a very nice Sherry Trifle Bowl & Silver Spoon which we have
looking for a while!
We then
headed along the coast road to Estepona and called in the Hypermarket first, we
bought a Paella Pan, a couple of tea mugs and some bits and pieces, next door
is ‘La Casa’ where we found the two Wooden Chopping Boards that we needed, a
rug for the kitchen, night lights, napkins a apron and some more tea & coffee mugs
as well as some bright Red table place setting plates! Brenda also picked up
some scented oils from the ‘Hippy’ shop to burn in her night light pots. See
the picture above of some of our purchases.
It was then time to go a little further along the coast road to find the ‘Cocomo’ Bar &
Restaurant, It’s right next to the 5* ‘Senator Banus Spa Hotel’ as you can see
in the picture above. We had a well earned cool drink sat out side on the
comfortable settees, we the selected and booked a nice table for this coming Sunday as the place and
the food look rather special.
Our next
port of call was for our ‘Tapas’ lunch in the new Boulevard in San Pedro, we
went to the same Bar and once again had some very tasty light Tapas,Brenda had
the Fresh Gambas and shared the ‘House Ham Croquets’- ‘Delicious’ was the comment!
I meanwhile had the ‘Tortilla de Camorones’ followed by the special of the day
‘Pisto con Huevos y Patatas’ as you can see in the pictures below. The ‘Pisto’
was the Spanish version of ‘Ratatouille, with lots of crusty bread and of
course fried egg and chips!!See below;
The last
stop on the way home was at the Garden Centre in Sabinillas for a couple of
wall plants before heading back up the hill to a very warm and sunny Manilva.
One ‘Helluva’ day out!!
This
evening for our supper, later, we are having ‘Grilled Gammon Steaks’ with Fresh
seared Pineapple slices and topped with a ‘Campo’ Fried Egg along with Garden
Peas and twice-cooked ‘Frits’ and ‘HP’sauce! We will then find something to
watch after channel hopping.
PS; One little bonus today when we called into the 'Lottery National' office in the Hypermarket and got our money back ( 20 Euros) on our 'Xmas - El Gordo' lottery ticket!!
