A STILL GREY AND OVERCAST SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 8 th/ FEBRUARY 2015.

We had a well deserved lie in this morning with no interruptions from the street outside; today its still rather overcast, damp and grey in sunny Manilva but no doubt it will get a little better later when the sun brakes through, like yesterday. The forecast for the start of the week is also looking better, at the moment, with more sunshine, the breeze dropping and getting a little warmer.

I was greeted at the breakfast table with Brenda’s special ‘Campo Poached Eggs on Toast’ along with a mug of steaming tea, to set us up for the day ahead – see the picture below. We then had nice leisurely shave (Me!) showers and freshened ourselves up ready to face the world on Monday as today its at home day taking things easy!

‘Chispa’ came rushing up the street and is now running around the house like a mad women, which she is! ‘Scruffy is due back at lunchtime and will be picked up later this evening. ‘Reina’ is here on Tuesday & Thursday and ‘Scruffy’ is back for a two day sleep over on Thursday & Friday tbc.

No ‘Roast’ today as this evening we are having ‘Braised Shank of Lamb in Minted Gravy’ with Brenda’s famous Mashed Potato along with crushed Baby Carrots & Turnips, whole Green Beans,Cauliflower florets and Garden Peas -   comfort food to die for! See the picture below;

At the moment the menus for next week are in the planning/discussion stage but could possible contain an old classic ‘Coronation Chicken’ and also a ‘Pie of the Day’ or a ‘Lancashire Hotpot’!! Watch this space – all will be revealed.

Some surprising results from yesterday’s football as Manchester City were held to a 1-1draw against Hull and the Everton v Liverpool ‘Derby’ game was a goalless draw, over here in ‘La Liga’ the big surprise result was Atl Madrid win over Real Madrid 4-0 – their sixth win in succession over Real Madrid – ‘Real’ were murdered!

We watched back to back films in the late afternoon/early evening before supper last night “Silverado” from 1985 with Kelvin Kline, Scott Glen, Danny Glover. John Cheese as a Texas Sheriff?! Jeff Goldblum,Brain Dennethy,Linda Hunt and a very young Kevin Costner in a classic western tale followed by the science fiction disaster movie “ Deep Impact” from 1998 with Morgan Freeman as the USA President with a large problem, helped by Robert Duvall, Tea Leoni.Vennessa Redgrave,Maximiiian Schell and a very young Elijah Wood – its a bit like buses – you wait for one and two come along!

We then after supper caught all the football high lights from around Europe before watching the “Goya” awards ceremony, live from Madrid, its Spain’s equlivent of the ‘Oscars’ and of course all the ladies are in their finest dresses with lots of lovies/kissing taking place on the Red Carpet!  Then its time for lots of crying, over acting and thanking their mothers & fathers as the awards are announced This year Antonio Bandereas won an honorary  ‘Goya’

Don't forget !

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
