First thing
this morning I took ‘Scruffy’ for his early morning walk before he was picked
up by Rose; we then had a quick breakfast and shot down to Sabinillas for our
weekly shopping at’Mercadona’ While shopping we bumped into Antonia, the Ex
Mayor, and had nice chat and catch up, she was delighted to see us and is now
one of my many followers on Facebook as I show our many dishes!
We then
went along to Duquesa Marina as there is a new flea market by the garden centre
and Sally Ann & Anna have started a stall on Saturday mornings, sadly they
had not made it this morning, their ‘Market Traders License ‘will be evoked!
The
bookings for ‘Doggy World Heaven’ are now sorted for next week ‘Reina’ is with
us on Tuesday & Thursday as normal and ‘Scruffy’ is back next Saturday for
a two day sleep over being picked up on Monday morning, he’s also back tomorrow
evening for a few hours as Rose is going out and Adrian is working.
The weather
today, as forecast, is little cloudy and overcast with a stiff breeze that has
got up but its still very mild and by this afternoon the temperatures are due
to reach 19degs!
As usual
when we got back up to the house to unload ‘Chispa’ came running up the street
and is now playing around my feet as I’m typing the Bog; this evening at the
request of my ‘child bride’ the menu is featuring yet another old classic “
Tournedos Rossini ” prepared to my own recipe.
I wrap the
Fillet Steaks in rashers of Smoked Bacon to form the perfect ‘Tournedos’ I’m
using a rich ‘Iberian Herb Pate’ to top off the ‘Tournedos after cooking them
‘Rare’ on the griddle plate and finishing them in a hot oven, they are served
on a toasted Crute.See below;
Tthe rich ‘Red Wine Demi-Glaze’ is made with a good Red Wine ( Faustino V11) and I’m using the local Manilva Dulce Wine in the reduction along with a good rich Beef & Chicken stock. We are having the usual finely sliced Green Beans and of course some twice cooked ‘Frits’ – sadly we could not find any Asparagus!
