We were up
as normal this morning and after breakfast we decided to go down to Sabinillas
as we needed to go into the branch of our bank and sort out the final repayment
to our account from last weeks problems; we took ‘Scruffy’ with us as he loves
the car and is no problem, last night he was very good and went into his house
to sleep after starting on our duvet, this morning he was back on the duvet to
get us up!
Today its a
glorious day here in sunny Manilva, the sky is blue, the sun is out and there in
no breeze, by lunchtime it will be 17/18degs! The weekend is fine and the start
of next week is starting to look good with more of the same and a little
warmer.
The bank
was very helpful so the repayment will appear in our account shortly, we called
into the English Bookshop for the papers and then stopped at ‘Super Sol’ for
some essentials, milk & bread, we are going down for our main shop on
Saturday morning, we then headed back up the hill through the vine fields which
at this time of the year look very bare as they have just burnt off all the
dead branches.
When we got
back to the house to unload ‘Chispa’was waiting for us and jumped onto the car
as she also loves going out with us! Calle Mar was closed as there was a mini
street parade for the kindergarten and junior children to celebrate ‘Carnival’
They were all dressed up and dancing to the music, as you can see in the
pictures above.
Mano & Anna called in at lunchtime for a good chat and gossip,Anna also sorted some problems out on both our mobiles - thanks!
Down in the 'Plaza de la Vendimia' this lunchtime they started work on the 'Roman Pottery Ovens - it looks like they are going to encase it - the frame work has gone up this afternoon as you can see in the pictures above.Watch this space over the next week?!

Cruzcampo Batter” with Mushy Peas, some twice cooked diced ‘Frits’ and of
course some homemade Tartar sauce and lots of Lemon Wedges!
Last night
we watched the final two episodes of the Joanna Lumley documentary on ‘TVE2’ as
she travels from north to south through numerous countries to find the furthest
source of the River Nile, over 4199 miles to make it the longest river in the
world, she also stops off in Sudan,Ethipoia,Uganda and Rwanda on the way. See
the picture below.
This
evening we try and find a film to watch after catching up with all the news
from around the world on the main new programme on ‘TVE1’
