I was up early again this morning and after
my usual quick freshen up I shot off on my travels down to Sabinillas for the
weekly shopping, I first called into ‘ ItZabar’ for my toast & tea before ‘
Mercadona’ opened, I had a technical problem with my card at the check-out so I
had to go across to our Bank for some cash, I then stopped at the ‘English
Bookshop ‘ for the local newspapers and ‘Easter Cards’ I was going to the ‘
English Butchers & Super Sol’ but because the card was not working I just
carried on to the local market at the far end of the promenade for the fresh
flowers & wall plants, as I came
back up through the vine fields they were burning off all the old branches
& leaves, so the aroma of the smoke was wafting across the road. I will go
back down tomorrow morning after the Bank sorts out the card!
Meanwhile back at the house Brenda took ‘
Chico’ out for his first walk of the day, he spent the night sleeping on the
floor under the bed, ‘ Scoobie’ was then dropped off for his two-night sleep
over, they are both full of joy & energy, as usual, they are due to be
collected on Sunday.
Next week we have two new dogs coming to
see us, ‘ Minnie & Summer’ – they are going to be staying with us in ‘
Doggy World Heaven ‘ for 4/5 weeks over August/September!
Yesterday evening we had a nice surprise ‘
Facebook Message’ from Jane & David over in Cheshire, they are coming over
to Malaga on Monday 22nd April and are staying for a short three
night break at the “ Atanazanas Boutique Hotel “ in the centre of the City,
opposite the famous Market! We are going to join them on the Tuesday ‘ St
George’s Day’! Watch this space.
This morning the sun was out first thing and
the sky had cleared and was blue, as I set off on my travels, by lunchtime it
will reach 20 degs, tomorrow & Sunday going up to 22 degs+ over the ‘ Carnival Weekend’ - during the day,
staying warm & sunny, sadly next week is still looking very unsettled as
the cold, wet & windy ‘ Atlantic’ front hits us from Tuesday onwards. The
breeze is increasing and the wet-stuff’ is going to bring moderate to heavy at
times – ‘RAIN’ – for the first time in over six months! It will be hovering on
the 13/15 degs during the day, down to 10/11 degs during the night time, watch
this space.
This afternoon we will be watching the ‘ National
Hunt Racing ‘ on Day 4 of the ‘ Cheltenham Festival on “ Gold Cup Day ” -
yesterday was one of the most moving and exciting days of racing as Bryony
Frost created history as she won the ‘ Ryanair Chase’ on Frodon’ and ‘ Paisley
Park’ won the ‘ Stayers’ Hurdle’ for its blind owner!
For our supper this evening we are keeping
things simple; ‘ Pan-Seared Fillets of Hake’ – dusted in seasoned flour and
finished ‘ A La Meuniere’ style, with Broccoli Florets, Garden Peas and Parsley
New Potatoes. On Saturday its’ going to be a large ‘Grilled Rib of Beef’ on the
bone, with all the trimmings, Sunday is still TBC- depending on the ‘English Butchers’
tomorrow!
After supper we will channel hop to find
something to watch.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
