We had a nice, well-earned, long lie in
this morning, helped by the village being very quiet, after freshening up
Brenda was on the breakfast rota, as usual, on a Saturday morning, so I had her
famous & and perfect ‘ Campo Poached Eggs on Toast ‘ – Boiled with Toast
Fingers for her, with mugs of strong/hot ‘ PG Tips’ Tea, we had put the gas
bottle out to be exchanged later by the gas-bottle delivery man, Brenda is now
washing/shampooing her hair and I have retired upstairs to the office/studio to
catch up with all the news, read all the newspapers ‘E-Mails/Facebook’ messages
etc, before typing/posting today’s Blog.
At the moment the sun is trying to break
through, there are still a few clouds around and the breeze is still blowing
off the Mediterranean, the threat of the ‘ wet-stuff’ is in the air, so by
lunchtime it’s only due to reach 17 degs, cool for the time of the year,
tomorrow is looking the same and then sadly all of next week we could be in for
a prolonged wet spell, with patchy clouds and lots of rain at times, hovering
in the high ‘ teens’- overnight down to 12/13 degs, watch this space.
Next week I’m back at the ‘Estepona
Hospital’ for my four early morning appointments at the ‘Physiotherapy Department’
for more extensive treatment on my left-hand, then on Tuesday afternoon Brenda
had her appointment with our Doctor, Natalia, down at the main Medical centre
in Sabinillas for a review/check up, I will be back out on my travels on Friday
for the weekly shopping, we are expecting the maintenance people to call in to
check out all the repairs etc around the house, meanwhile in ‘ Doggy World
Heaven’ ‘ Scruffy’ is back with us on Monday morning for the day.
On the sports front this weekend it’s
quieter than normal; there is no ‘ Premier League of La Liga’ Football as it’s
a weekend of ‘ European Qualifying’ – Spain v Norway today and last night
England v Czech Republic, England won 5-0 with Sterling scoring a hat-trick! The
‘ National Hunt Racing ‘ is from Kelso.
For our supper this evening we are having ‘
Grilled Fillet Steaks’ – cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare’ – then left
to rest, garnished with seared Asparagus Spear, Button Mushrooms and ‘
French-Fried Onion Rings’ ( Cruzcampo Beer Batter ) with whole ‘French’ Baby
Green Beans and the classic ‘ Pont Neuf’ Fries! – accompanied with a classic ‘
Bearnaise’ sauce. On Sunday we are having a ‘ Roast Chicken’ with lots of local
Vegetables and ‘ Goose-Fat’ Roast Potatoes, along with my famous,
finger-licking Pan Gravy!
This evening after supper we will be
channel hopping to find something to watch.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
