A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON SATURDAY;

SATURDAY 2nd / APRIL 2016.

We had a nice long lie in this morning as we have no ‘Reina’ – she’s back on Monday for five days, ‘Scruffy’ is due at lunchtime for the day, he’s just arrived and is sat across my feet under my desk as I’m typing the Blog, the village is quiet as we settle back into the routine, for our breakfast Brenda had a crispy ‘Smoked Bacon Butty’ and I had ‘ Campo’ Fried Eggs with crispy Smoked Bacon, lots of toast and mugs of steaming tea.

We then settled down to watch ‘ Saturday Kitchen Live’ this week hosted by Michael Roux Jnr. – he was OK – this morning the Welsh Chef Bryn Williams was on again cooking Duck Breast – very ‘Pink’! For our supper this evening we are having “ Surf & Turf “ – using Fillet Steak & fresh, local, large Gambas! The steaks are cooked on a very hot griddle plate ‘ Med-Rare’ and then topped with the peeled Prawns that I cooked ‘ A la Plancha’ on Sea Salt, we are having fine Green Beans & seared Asparagus Spears along with the classic ‘ Pont Neuf ‘ – door step chips! We have yet another glorious day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun was out early and the sky has now cleared, there is no breeze and its due to reach 22 degs by lunchtime, tomorrow is the same and next week is looking settled as well.

On Monday I’m off on my travels to Estepona,  in the morning, to go to my Barber, Manuel, for the full works, a cut, trim, wash a & scalp massage! I will then collect our Carriage Clock from the jewellers next door that has been in for repair since before Xmas! I’m also going along to the Hypermarket to check our lottery ‘El Gordo’ ticket from Xmas, last year we got our money back! At the same time I’m calling into ‘ La Casa ‘ for some night lights and then going along to the ‘Hippy Shop’ for some essential scented Oils to burn! On the way back I’m calling into the ‘IT Shop’ that set up my new computer system, to check out the ‘Logitech’ ear phones with mike as my ‘Radio’ career is still possible going to happen! Watch this space.

On Tuesday lunchtime we are going down to the surgery, in the car, for Brenda's check up, she's planning to take on the stairs on Monday and get back to going to bed - with me!! 

On the sports front in the ‘Premiere League’ Manchester City have a ‘Helluva’ journey down to Bournemouth, and Liverpool welcome ‘ Spurs’ – then tomorrow its Manchester Utd v Everton, over here in ‘ La Liga’ its the ‘ El Classico’ as Barcelona welcome Real Madrid this evening! The ‘ Bahrain Grand Prix’ is live on Channel 4 for the first time, its flat racing today, which I don’t follow, but then next week its the ‘ Grand National’ meeting from Aintree from Thursday to Saturday, this will be the first time in many years that he have watched it ‘live’ on the TV!

This afternoon as I took ' Scruffy' for a walk I bumped into Sally Ann with a friend sat outside 'Bar Rojas' - on another table were sat a couple, with their son, Mark & Beth, who it turned out come from North Wales in a small village outside Machynlleh/Dolgeliau area, Its a small World! Nice to meet them.

Last night we had a ‘Quiz’ evening as we watched ‘ Countdown, Pointless, Eggheads & the final of Mastermind’ – we finished up watching the ‘Graham Norton’ show. This evening we will channel hop later to find a film to watch.
