Overnight and then early this morning we had
a severe storm hit us with thunder, lightening & very heavy rain, at one
time a cloudburst, when it rain in Spain, it RAINS! ‘Scruffy’ slept in his bed
and then on our bed as it hit us, ‘ Reina’’ is not with us today as Daniela is
not feeling well and has taken the day off. It then stopped raining so I shot
out with ‘ Scruffy’ with his raincoat on, just in case, for his first walk of
the day, after breakfast ( Smoked Bacon Butties!) I went along to the Chemists
in Calle Mar for some of our prescription tablets.
Yesterday evening we went down to the
surgery for our appointment with the Chiropodist, Carmen, she is a very nice
lady, she also speaks French, as her
husband is from Belgium, she never stops talking and is a real character, sadly
she told us that we have to re-register with the Council at the Town Hall to
continue with the treatment ( free!) – so I’m shooting up later to hopefully
get things sorted, watch this space.
The forecast for the next few days is ‘
changeable’ to say the least, today its more of the storm all day, then
tomorrow its back to warm & sunny, then on Friday its cloudy with a possibility
of some of the wet stuff and then over the weekend its starting to look more
settled, for now!
The pictures below show Crosby beach on the
River Mersey, at sunrise, with one of the famous ‘ Sir Antony Gormley’ statues,
the night time picture is a view across the river from the Pier Head to
Birkenhead, the black & white picture shows the Liver Building last night
and then there is view of ‘Lime Street’ station looking a lot better after a partial
refurbishment, later this year it is closing for a total make-over?!
This evening we are having one of our more simple
meals,’ Escalopes of Chicken Breast’ pan-fried in foaming Lime Butter with whole
Green Beans & Potato wedges, on Thursday its something easy and then on
Friday it will be a ‘Fish Supper’ before our regular ‘ Steak Night’ on Saturday,
Sunday is TBC!
Today I’m working on my scripts/play lists
for the start of my radio show on Saturday morning “ Sir Malcolm’s Classic
Saturday Session “ between 11-00am to 1-00pm on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 &
Online World Wide’ – tomorrow Andrew Charles the owner and main presenter is
coming up at lunchtime to install the complete system onto my new computer
system, watch this space for all the details!
