I was up very early this morning to see ‘
Reina’ back with us for the day as she was dropped off by 8-00am – she’s back
with us for her normal five days next week. No ‘ Chispa’ at the moment as its
the wrong time of the month and she can’t come out to play! Later in the morning Isobel brought ' Chispa' up to see us, thanks! After a quick
breakfast I set off on my travels, I called into the local post office to thank
the postmistress for sorting the Easter cards out, I then carried on to the
surgery to make the appointment for Brenda for next week, Tuesday lunchtime. I also
bought some fresh flowers from the local market down by the sports ground.
As I went down through the vine fields the
leaves on them are just starting to show, the mountains across the valley were
glowing in the early morning sunrise as it came up behind the sparkling
Mediterranean on a very clear & crisp start to the day, by lunchtime its
due too reach 23/24 degs with more of the same to come over the weekend and
into the start of next week.See below a view from a friends balcony in Duquesa Marina at lunchtime!
I called into our bank to sort a little technical
problem out and picked up some cash at the same time, next it was the English
Bookshop for the local newspapers and a special 60th birthday card?!
‘ Mercadona’ was back to normal, quiet, as I did our main shop, I then shot
along to ‘Helicopteros Santarios’ to arrange an appointment for next Friday morning
to re-sign with them for our ‘Private Medical Insurance’ – watch this space. I then popped into the English Butchers in ‘Duquesa
Marina’ for some Gammon Steaks & their Homemade Traditional Pork Sausages. On
the way back up the hills to Manilva I stopped at ‘ Super Sol’ for some English
essentials.
This after the Council workmen came along with the water waggon and washed down our street and at my request our house also - see below!

After unpacking back at the house, with
Brenda’s help, we then made a phone call to our old bank in Colwyn Bay, via their
‘International Banking Service’ to arrange the transfer of some annuity’s to
our Spanish Bank Account. Sadly this morning the ‘Euro’ has just hit its lowest
level in over five years!
We then called Tim in Old Colwyn to wish
Thea a very ‘ Happy Retirement’ as she finished work yesterday after many years
with the North Wales Police, in a civilian role! Its the start of the rest of
her life as they set off next week on their ‘travels’ in their new motor home
when hopefully they will make it down to us, again, sometime in May! Watch this
space.
Supper this evening is ‘ Goujons of Hake
Fillet in ‘ Campo’ Beer Batter’ with ‘ Mushy’ Peas & ‘ Chips’ – Homemade Tartar
Sauce on the side with lots of Lemon wedges! Tomorrow night we are going to
have ‘Surf & Turf’ again as I bought some large fresh ‘Gambas’ from the
market this morning, on Sunday evening its ‘ Escalope of Turkey Breast’ with
Basmati Rice. See Brenda's supper tray below:
Last night we caught the second episode of ‘
Line of Duty’ as the ‘ Killer’ cop shot himself?! Another cop hung himself?!
One of the ‘Anti-Corruption’ cops turned out be corrupt and a headless body was
found, the head turned up later in an ice box!!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
