A OVERCAST,CLOUDY,WET & WINDY SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY " ST,PATRICK'S DAY "

TUESDAY 17^th/ MARCH 2015        “ST. PATRICK’S DAY”

I was up early to welcome ‘Reina’ here for the day, she shot upstairs and got into her duvet, we decided to get up as we have lots to do, it’s a ‘Batten down the Hatches Day’ here in sunny Manilva, its already overcast, windy and the rain is threatened in the next few hours, its also a lot colder with the overall temperature down to 17/18degs.It looks like it is with us for the next few days. at least, and could be the same over the weekend also!

After breakfast Brenda shot upstairs to the drying room next to the roof terrace to catch up with all the ironing and I got this evenings supper on the go “Beef Stew with Dumplings” made to my own special recipe.

The cubed Beef is tossed in seasoned flour and browned off, I sweat off the diced Garlic, Onions, Carrots, Turnips, Celery, Leek, assorted Peppers and Button Mushrooms in a good slug of Brenda’s best Red Wine ( Sorry! ) - add a rich Beef & Vegetable stock, Tomato Frito and season to taste before leaving it in the very capable hands of the Assistant Chef to cook out!

This evening I will add the Dumplings to the pot to cook, we are having whole Baby Carrots & Cabbage with Alselgas – food for the ‘Gods’ on a wet and windy evening – ‘Comfort Food to die for! The aromas are wafting upstairs to the office as I’m typing the Blog!!

Here in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ ‘Reina’ is back with us on Thursday and ‘Scruffy’ is due back with us on Saturday lunchtime for a two day sleep over, no doubt ‘Chispa’ will come calling in-between the showers!

We are looking forward to seeing Joyce tomorrow for a good catch up, I’ve booked a table at ‘Cocomo’ We are meeting her in Puerto Banus and then going along in one car to the restaurant back on the ‘Golden Mile’ The outfits are chosen and ironed and the wet proofs are ready ‘Be prepared’ is the motto for the Day!

This evening after supper there is some ‘Champions League’ football on TVE 1 – last night over in the ‘Premiere League’ Liverpool won 0-1 at Swansea and on Sunday over here in ‘La Liga’ Real Madrid won 2-0 with Bale scoring both goals much to Ronaldo’s disgust!
