We have awoken to a very lovely day down here on the ‘Costa Del Sol’- the sun is out, the skies are blue and there’s just a little breeze – by lunchtime it will reach 24/25degs! I’ am watching BBC1 Breakfast News on the smaller PC as I’ am typing the Blog on the large PC as I wait to watch ‘Saturday Morning Kitchen’ – live in a few minutes. The dog has just come crashing in and is playing around the house full of the joys of spring.

Over in Manchester the " Beef & Pudding " is open today for its first 'Brunch' - see the pictures above.

Later this morning I’ am making a fresh batch of my ‘Tomato Salsa’- everything is ready in the kitchen, Plum Tomatoes, Onions, Red Peppers, Garlic, Mixed Herbs, Sugar, Vineagar and my secret seasonings, Brenda has got the ‘Blender’ out before sorting out tonight’s supper – sliced Green Beans to go with our ‘Steak au Poivrade’ – I will crack the whole Black Peppercorns later with the rolling pin! Twice-cooked chips will also be ready later.

This afternoon we will watch the ‘Grand National’ from Aintree after logging on to the ‘Wiziwig’ TV Channel to catch the ‘Channel 4’ coverage – this year’s race is sponsored by ‘Crabbies’ and is the first million pound ‘National ’The winner of the 167th 'Grand National' is " Pineau De Re " at 25/1 !

At the same time over in England Manchester City just up the road from Aintree welcome Southampton in the ‘Premiere League’ match, tomorrow its West Ham v Liverpool and the match of the day when Everton( just along the road from Aintree) welcome Arsenal in a must win game for the ‘Blues’ City have just won 4-1!
