FRIDAY 4th/
APRIL 2014.
Well this
morning we were awoken by the street cleaners washing down our street with the
water wagon which they do once a month on average, it’s a lot nicer today with
the sun out and the skies blue and getting better over the weekend and into
next week; after a quick tea and toast we shot around to the local market down
by the sports pavilion to pick up some fresh flowers and another plant, our
window display is starting to look rather good. See the picture above.
We then
shot down to Sabinillas for our weekend shopping at the supermarket and then
called into the English bookshop for the papers and some new books, we were
surprised to find that they have opened up the shop and its now three times as
big as it was – the new ‘W.H. Smiths’ of Sabinillas! On their recommendation we
have chosen to read for the first time two books by ‘Lee Child’ in the ‘Jack
Reacher’ series?! Watch this space.
This
evening for our Friday ‘Fish Night’ we are having Hake Fillets in’ Cruz Campo
Batter’ with Mushy Peas and twice-cooked diced chips, Homemade Tartar sauce and
lots of Lemon wedges on the side. We have just come back from a short walk
around the village with the dog, we called into the chemists for some throat
tablets as I’ve a little tickle and I’ am feeling a bit off colour, so for the
rest of the day I’ am taking things easy and getting myself sorted out.
This
afternoon I will be watching the second days racing from Aintree, I will try
and get the contact via ‘Wiziwig’ that I managed to find yesterday, the ‘Channel
4’coverage is excellent and the racing was spectacular, more of the same today.Success - I'am watching the racing on the large PC in the office,a horse called 'Holywell' with 'AP.riding and 'JJ' trained has just won- for all our friends in North Wales!!
Meanwhile
over in Manchester city center it’s the official opening of the ‘Beef &
Pudding Urban Pub & Kitchen’ at lunchtime; we wish David and Paul all the
very best for the fifth ‘New Moon Pub Company’ venture to open in the last
three years, nos 6 & 7 are on the cards ! See the special 'Express Menu' above for those in a hurry - with 'Mince,Onions & Spuds' and 'Tortilla Espanola' going well - over 100 covers served so far this lunchtime! Between 5-7-00pm its 'Taittinger' champagne at £5 a glass !!
After
supper this evening we will find a film to watch as its ‘Film Night’ on all the
channels.
Thoughts
for the Day; See above.
