A WARM AND SUNNY MANILVA ON WEDNESDAY " SAINT GEORGE'S DAY"

WEDNESDAY 23rd/ APRIL 2014 “SAINT GEORGES’S DAY”.

After breakfast this morning I went and picked Lillemore and her friend Linda up to take them across to the bus station over in Marbella so as Linda could catch a bus to Malaga airport to get her flight back to Stockholm – see the picture above; the weather today is glorious with the sun out early and the skies clear and blue, just a slight breeze to make it very pleasant as it gets hotter!

“St.George’s Day” is celebrated here more than in England, I think, with live music and children’s parties down in Duquesa Marina and Sabinillas and later a special dinner at one of the local restaurants, too expensive for us as I told one of the local Councilors who is responsible earlier this morning!

Brenda stayed in bed a little while longer to try and get rid of the nasty chest cough that she can’t seem to shake off; I then after coming back from Marbella went up to the top of our street to take some pictures of the start of the ‘Manilva Cultural Week’ which is taking place outside the Town Hall with Poetry Reading by local children and a book exchange, this evening there is an Art Exhibition opening in the Manilva Wine Centre and the tomorrow night in the Theater it’s classical music which we have been given tickets for. See Above,

I popped down to the 'Wine Centre Museum" to check out the exhibition only to find out that there was only one exhibit on show - a old fashioned what I call a " Mobile " with a musical background created by 'Fernando ie. " Moon River " -  as you can see in the pictures above; so I passed on all the details of the 'Project' over in Llandudno by 'Bedwyr Williams' to all, including the artist!!

At the moment Chispa is here for the day as Isobel has an appointment at the hospital this afternoon so we are looking after her till later; I’ am going to make tonight’s supper after a light snack lunch – my version of the classic “Chicken Chasseur” with diced Chicken breast dusted in flour and browned off, then I make the sauce with Concasse Tomatoes, sliced Shallots & Mushrooms, Smoked Bacon sippits (not normal),White wine & Brandy, a little of my rich Tomato salsa and a good strong Vegetable & Chicken stock and of course my secret ingredients including mixed Herbs and Tarragon before adjusting the consistency and seasoning to taste! Baked potato & Diamond cut Green Beans to accompany the golden oldie classic from the past!

After supper we will find something to watch by channel hopping and I will also catch upstairs in the office the second semi-final of the ‘UEFA Champions League’ match as Real Madrid welcome ‘Pep’s’ Bayern Munich – score later .Real Madrid 1 v Bayern Munich 0 !

Thoughts for the Day; See above.
