SPAIN EUROPEAN AND WORLD CHAMPIONS.

BEASTS 0 BEAUTY 1 ; SPAIN ON TOP OF THE WORLD AS THEY DEFEAT THE DUTCH CLOGGERS.

SPAIN won the World Cup for the first time on Sunday;they are now European and World Champions !!!!!!!!!!

The match was settled by Andrea Iniesta’s dramatic late goal four minutes from the end of extra time. Spain deserved the victory after gradually taking a grip on a tense and bad tempered contest;

MANILVA CELEBRATES.

We had lunch up at Bar Rojas on Sunday as I had taken the day off; in the evening we went down to Mano and Anna’s to watch the match as Carlos was working at the hotel,Mano had to go into work to take over from him and Brian was working from home and could not get out till later. Mano dropped us at the roundabout on his way in after a very tense final few minutes; the village then started to go wild, the pictures below will give you a little taste of the festivities but the sounds and atmosphere you will have to imagine !! The first picture show’s a very happy Spaniard, the next is the best bar in the village with a trophy, me singing my heart out and leading the choir in various chants, a certain pensioner getting rather over excited, the main street with the cars starting to arrive, Brian is on the left in the green t-shirt, Carlos is in front with my flag and Fernando the professor of the School of Music is on the right; the baby lamb mascot of Bar Rojas ( Six Days Old ) and finally the senoras joining in. We all had a great time as all the locals came out to celebrate and even the police joined in and watched as I directed the traffic with my whistle ! Carlos,Brian and Lilli came along after finishing work, the band leader and professor of music was outside Bar Rojas with his family and friends and I conducted them in a few songs and got the thumbs up for my conducting skills ! We ended up back in our house on Beans on toast at three o’clock !!
