LE CASA DEL ABUELO GUADALMINA.

SATURDAY/MONDAY 3RD/5TH.JULY 2010.

Over the weekend we had a relaxing time at the villa; we watched all the sport on the large screen TV including my sport, the Tour de France, start in Rotterdam and had all our meals out on the balcony which catches what breeze there is, Brenda did a little sunbathing but it was very hot and reached 35degs.so she could only do it in small bursts; the pool was just right and we took full advantage of it in the early evening as the sun moved around. The two dogs are not a problem, we walked them first thing in the morning before the sun got going and then they have the run of the gardens but spend most of their time on the marble floors inside the villa. On Sunday we went out for a late lunch at Tricky Ricky’s down in Guadalmina,we sat outside in the shade with a little gentle breeze and as usual had a lovely Sunday Roast lunch, Brenda had Roast Pork and Lamb and I had the Roast Beef, it all comes with Mashed and Roast Potatoes, Stuffing and Crackling, and on a side dish of
Cabbage,Carrotts,Broccoli and creamed Leeks and a large sauceboat of proper finger licking Gravy !

On Monday the gardener comes in and Joan’s home help, she is 90 in August on the same day that the other Joan, from Tarifa now in England, is 92! Later after a very nice Chicken salad lunch, the salad came from the garden and the old Abuela who lived in the villa as the family home and now lives just around the corner, calls in every week with some vegetables, fruit and fresh eggs. We took most of our food already cooked so it was easier to get ready, Brenda had all her fresh vegetables and salads as usual and so it has been a nice change for a few days and the pool is a bonus, which we are now missing! We then picked up Clive and Carolyn from the airport in Malaga, our system of them calling us when they have walked to the new departure terminal from arrivals, as we wait in the petrol station, worked a treat and we got home by 11-30 last night and found are parking spot empty.

Thought for the Day;

So much has been given to me; I have no time to ponder over that which has been denied.
