MONDAY 26TH JULY 2010 8-00 am.
On the 26th July Manilva celebrates its patron saint Santa Ana with a day of festivities when the locals take part in various tournaments, contests for children and processions; The band called “ Chi Chi Pom ” made up of members of the Brass Band enter the village at 8-00am playing Charanga music, lively brass band/samba, to wake the village up and at the same time marking the start of the day, locals also let off fireworks all over the village.
In the late afternoon there is a mass at the church of Santa Ana accompanied by the Santa Ana Choir followed by a procession of the Saint through the streets accompanied by the Manilva Town Band; in the evening after the presentation of the awards and trophies for the various tournaments and contests there is music and dancing in Calle Mar to the sounds of the groups “ Latidos ”and “ Cruceros ”until the early hours of the morning !!
