It must be Friday morning, as the sound of
the goods-delivery men sliding the wooden pallets down our street to the local
shop got us up! After freshening up, I was on the breakfast rota, so I had a ‘
Dockers Butty ‘ – a Toasted Crispy Smoked Bacon Butty ‘ – smothered in ‘ HP’
Brown sauce, open on brown for Brenda, with sliced/seared Button Mushrooms
tossed in the Bacon juices with a knob of butter, with mugs of strong/hot tea
to help wash them down!
As usual we listen to the ‘ Lockdown Party’
show on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ – while having our breakfast,
on Wednesday I gave the wrong answer, it was a ‘Italian’ voice, I guessed ‘Gino
D’Acampo’ the Chef, it was actually the greatest jockey ‘ Frankie Dettori’! –
yesterday was easy - ‘ Clare Balding ‘ - the TV sports presenter, this morning
I got the first correct answer, again, it was the ‘ transvestite visual artist ‘
Grayson Perry’!
Late last night Norah’s son, Darren, sent
us on ‘ Facebook’ messenger a very old picture that his mother had just come
across, it was from the “ VE Day” celebrations, taken in ‘Thorton Street’ in
Birkenhead, Liverpool, where the four sisters were born & lived, back on
May 8th 1945!
See below;
On the second row, next to the boy on the
left, is Lyn - 5th along on the same row is ‘ Brenda’ aged just
nearly 2 – at the back is Norah, aged 12, with her mates, you can only see the
top of her dark hair!!
Brenda then went into the albums and found
the pictures below; the first is ‘ Baby’ Brenda (age?) – and a little grown up, aged 6 - then Jenny with her
older sister, on the right, Brenda, now aged 12!
See below the pictures that have just arrived from Everett, Ontario, Canada, showing a very young Sandra, aged about 2 and then her later in her " St Trinian's School "Days - aged 6 !!
The sun has just broken through and the
clouds are clearing, as there is a light breeze, so by lunchtime it will be
warm & sunny, with a now clear blue sky, raising to 23/24 degs+ - overnight down to 17/18degs+ - staying
the same over the weekend, next week, at the start of June, it’s going a little
warmer, at times, as the breeze drops, hovering in the mid/high 20s, with lots
of warm sunshine, the flowing week is forecast to be ‘Hotter’- watch this space.
“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

Minister, Salvador Illa, announced that the province of Malaga had been given
the green light to move up to ‘Phase 2’ – this coming Monday the 1st

For our ‘ Fish Supper’ this evening we are
keeping it very simple, we are having ‘Fillets of Hake a la Meuniere ‘ ( in the
manner of the Miller’s wife!) for a
change, the ‘Fillet’s are, lightly dusted in seasoned flour, then fried in
Parsley Butter, garnished with seared
Baby Prawns, accompanied with Homemade ‘Tartar’ sauce ( Brenda ) - served with
Garden Peas, Broccoli Florets and Baby New Potatoes, boiled in their skins!
On Saturday it’s our ‘ Steak Night’ – this week
a slice of ‘Spanish Beef’ – grilled and served with triple-cooked ‘ Chips’ This
Sunday we are now having a small ‘ Roast Leg of Spanish Lamb’ resting on a bed
of my famous ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes.
“ Bar Castillo “ have just announced that
they are opening next Friday the 5th June!
