A ' FRESH' AND VERY SUNNY MANILVA ON THURSDAY.

THURSDAY 28^th/ MAY 2020.   “ STATE OF ALARM – DAY 76 “

After a little lie in this morning we freshened up and had our regular fresh fruit(sliced Banana) toast & tea, we then went for our morning walk ‘masked/gloved’ up, I first called into the underground car park to turn the car over, then went across to the ‘ Suma’ supermarket to top up with the essentials (wines!) etc, Brenda then joined me to help carry the bags back up to the house.

As we were leaving the house, in ‘Calle Mar’ – at the top of our street, it was all happening, outside the Town Hall, with the ‘Policia Local’ out in force, including the new ‘Chief of Policia’ – Juan Moreno - who I congratulated on his appointment, the street was closed off, outside the Town Hall, the local ‘ Manilva TV’ was filming, together with ‘ National’ TV stations, and the Mayor, Mario, all the local Councillors & dignitaries were standing on the steps, as the “ President of Andalusia “ – ‘ Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla’ ( PP Party) was making a historical ‘ first’ visit to sunny Manilva by a President of Andalusia! 

Later signing the guest book in the main Council chamber next to the Police station.

We have another beautiful morning here in a very sunny Manilva, the sun was out first thing and the sky is cloudless and bright blue as there a ‘ Fresh’ breeze blowing, up/off the Mediterranean, so by lunchtime it’s forecast to reach 23/24 degs+ - overnight only down to 18 degs+ - staying the same tomorrow and over the weekend, next week is now looking like it’s going to go warmer, as the breeze drops, with just a few patchy clouds hanging around, going up to 28/29 degs+ at times, as well as hovering in the high 20s, all week, with lots of hot sunshine, watch this space.

Yesterday afternoon we made contact with our dear friends Tim & Thea, on the ‘ Skype’ video, up in magical Mojacar, for a good catch-up with all their news, they are already into ‘Phase 2’ of Lockdown, as Mojacar is in the province of Almeria ( still Andalucia  ) – they are both fine & well and able to get about more, their ‘ Step Count’ has gone up!( 80,000+)  They have ‘ Smart Watches’ – we just ‘ Count’ ( 100 max ) as we are walking!!

“ CORANAVIRUS UPDATE – COVID 19 PANDEMIC “

NB; From yesterday, both children and adults in ‘ Phase 2 ‘ territories are able to go outside as often as they like, with no restrictions on time or distance! ( see above )

NNB; The only restriction that remains in place is the time slot allocated for ‘ senior citizens ‘ – which will continue to be from 10 am to 12 pm and from 7 pm to 8 pm.

This evening for our supper we are having  our favourite ‘ Grilled Chicken Wings’ – seasoned with Sea Salt & White Pepper, served with finely sliced ‘ French’ Green Beans, Broccoli Florets and Baked Potatoes.  

As usual everyday we are still following all the  ‘Quiz Shows’ that we follow; ‘ Countdown,  Tenable, Tipping Point, The Chase, Pointless, Eggheads’ as well as the ‘ Holiday’ programmes, lots of Documentaries and old series, at the same time keeping up with the main news on ‘BBC TV ITV & Channel 4’
