We had a nice lie in this morning, the
first this week, the village was very quiet, no children, no neighbours
gossiping, no traffic and no church bells, so far! After freshening up, as
Brenda was on the breakfast rota, I had her famous ‘ Campo’ Poached Eggs on
Toast, Brenda likes her Scrambled with toast fingers, we had put the gas bottle
out to be exchanged by the delivery man.
‘Winnie’ the little black Pug was dropped
off, she’s with us in ‘Doggy World Heaven’ for a sleep-over, so she brought her
overnight bed & toys with her, she has settled in very well and is at my
feet as I start to type/post today’s Blog.
We have another glorious day here in sunny
Manilva, down on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun was out first thing morning and
sky is bright blue, there is just a very slight breeze so by lunchtime it will
be 22 degs+ - tomorrow even a little warmer, 24 degs+ - just in time for the
start of the ‘ Semana Santa’ celebrations on ‘ Palm Sunday’ – on Monday &
Tuesday it will be the same, then as the breeze gets up it’s going a little
cooler, overcast with patchy clouds, with sadly the ‘wet-stuff’ back on the
forecasts, back down to the low 20s, overnight hovering on the 11/12 degs mark,
carrying on over the ‘ Easter’ weekend, when the final processions are due to
take place, watch this space.
Over in Liverpool at the Pier Head, the
first of the season of ‘Grand Cruise Liners’ berthed – ‘ Costa Meditrranea ‘ –
see the pictures below taken from a ‘ Ferry Across the Mersey’!
On the sports front; over in the ‘Premiere
League’ Everton travel down the M1 to play Fulham and Manchester City will also
be on the same motorway, as they play Crystal Palace later, the ‘ Match of the
Day’ is Liverpool ( must win!) at home to Chelsea, over here in ‘ La Liga’
Barcelona travel to lowly Huesca & Real Madrid are at lowly Leganes.
On pole position for the ‘ Grand Prix of
China’ over in Shanghi, Valtteri Bottas fended off his team mate Lewis
Hamilton, this afternoon it’s the ‘ Scottish Grand National ‘ at Ayr, later the
third round of the ‘Masters’ Golf at Augusta, Georgia, USA,- one of the most
famous golf clubs in the World.
On the menu this evening we are having ‘
Grilled Fillet Steaks’ – cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘ Med-Rare’ – then left
to rest – garnished with seared ‘ Button Mushrooms’ and ‘Deep-Fried Onion Rings’
in a ‘ Cruzcampo Beer Batter’ – with whole baby ‘ French’ Green Beans and of
course twice-cooked ‘ Frits’ – accompanied with ‘ Dijon Mustard & a classic
‘ Bearnaise’ sauce.
We will be following all the sport later,
hopefully, as the ‘ IPTV’ system is acting-up at the moment, otherwise I will
have to use the ‘ BBC I Player’ – but only catching the ‘BBC’ programmes, the ‘
National Hunt Racing is over on ‘ITV’! Watch this space.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
