A GLORIOUS FRESH, WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON TUESDAY.
I was up early again this morning and after
a quick freshen up I shot off across the ‘ Estepona Hospital’ for my next
appointment at the ‘ Physiotherapy Department’ for more treatment on my left
hand, as it’s the ‘ May Day Bank Holiday’ tomorrow I will be back on Thursday
morning, next week it’s only three days as Encarni, the ‘ Head Physio’ is away
on a course on Tuesday.
I found a spot to park at the top of the
hill past the Hospital and had my usual tostado
& tea in ‘ Tikitapi’ before going across to the Hospital.
See below the latest pictures of the new ‘
Estepona Hospital’ which is due to open later this year, making our journey a
lot shorter, down from over 100 kms to just 12 kms, for the round trip!
We have a glorious day down here on the ‘
Costa Del Sol’ this morning, the sun was out first thing, the sky was cloudless
& blue as there is a very light breeze, by lunchtime it will be 22 degs+ -
a perfect day, with just normal traffic, no holidays makers, staying fresh
& sunny, overnight hovering on the 12/13 degs mark, tomorrow is the same,
then on Thursday its going a little cooler, before picking up over the weekend,
raising to 24/25 degs+ by Sunday - next week is now looking dry, warm &
very sunny, by next Thursday it’s forecast to reach 29degs+! Watch this space
This evening for our supper we are now having ‘ Pan-Seared Lambs Liver’ – dusted in seasoned flour and ‘ Flash’ cooked on a very hot griddle-plate ‘Pink – no blood’ – served with Grilled English Pork Sausages, cooked this morning by the ‘ Second Chef’ – while I was out, so when I returned I had a ‘ Toasted Sausage Butty’ – smother in ‘HP Brown sauce with another mug of tea, with the ‘Liver’ we will be having also some ‘ Crispy Smoked Spanish Bacon’ and accompanied with a rich ‘ Red Wine ( thanks Brenda !) Onion, Shallot & Mushroom’ salsa, with Glazed Carrot Batons, Wilted ‘ Greens’ and ‘Goose-Fat’ Roast Potatoes , that I made extra on Sunday!
Yesterday evening after supper we watched
the penultimate episode of ‘ The Widow’ – the final one is this evening, as she
found her husband alive & well, across the border in Ruanda, living with a
local lady and his baby! He didn’t get on the plane that crashed, as he was
warned not to, he’s into gold & diamond smuggling, at the end there was
another surprise turn as the ‘Charity Lady’- who is behind all the smuggling,
who was ‘ Killed’ is still alive?! Watch this space.

A WARM & SUNNY MANILVA ON MONDAY AT THE START OF THE WEEK.
I was up early this morning and after a
quick freshen up I shot off across to the ‘ Estepona Hospital’ for my first, of
four, appointments this week, at the ‘Physiotherapy Department’ for more
extensive treatment on my left hand, I found a spot to park straight away and
had my usual tostado & tea in ‘Tikitapi’ before crossing to the Hospital.
The sun was up above the horizon as I set
off along the coast road past a sparkling & calm, Blue/Green Mediterranean,
there is a light breeze, the sky was clear & blue, by lunchtime it’s due to
reach 21 degs+ - over the next few days, overnight down to 13/14 degs, it’s
staying the same, then by Thursday it’s going to be a little overcast, with
patchy clouds, over the weekend the ‘ wet-stuff’ could return, going a little cooler,
hovering in the high ‘ teens/low 20s’ - the following week is looking a lot
better, with prolonged sunshine, reaching 26 degs+ by mid-week, watch this
space.
We have a busy week in ‘ Doggy World Heaven’
– on Wednesday afternoon ‘ Chico’ arrives for a week’s holiday, Friday
afternoon ‘ Scruffy’ is back with us for a few hours, then on Saturday morning ‘
Winnie, the little ‘Black Pug’ is here for a two-day sleep-over, no doubt ‘
Chispa’ will be in & out all the time, as usual.
Over in Liverpool over the weekend, down at
the Pier Head a French Cruise Liner berthed “L’Austral “ – see below.
Just a quick update on the football results
etc; Everton drew 0-0, Manchester City won 0-1 and went back to the top of the ‘Premiere
League’ with two games to play, Real Madrid lost 1-0 & Barcelona won 1-0
with another ‘ Messi’ goal and won the ‘ La Liga ‘!
For our supper this evening we are having ‘
Cold Roast Loin of Pork’ with a selection of Vegetables and the rest of the ‘

– then on Wednesday I’m making my famous ‘ Chicken & Mushroom Tarragon Pie’
– Thursday is find something in the fridge day, Friday will be a ‘Fish n ’Chip
Supper’ – then on Saturday it’s ‘ Steak Night’ – Sunday is TBC.
Yesterday evening after supper we settled down
to watch the pen-ultimate episode of the very gripping ‘ Line of Duty ‘ – a body
of a lady was found in a fridge, another body was dumped in a scrap yard, 2/3
gang members were shot dead and one captured, the boss of ‘ AC-12’ ended up in
Prison, was he framed or is he ‘H’ & guilty?! – ‘ AC-3’ are now
investigating them! Next week’s final episode is a special long one when all
the questions will be answered?! Watch this space.
This evening and tomorrow evening it’s the
final two episode of ‘The Widow’ – will she find her husband?! Watch this space .

A ' CRISP' & WARM SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY.
We had a nice lie in this morning and after
a quick freshen up we had our fresh fruit, toast & tea before getting today’s
‘ Roast ‘ on the go.
This morning the sun was out first thing
and the clouds had cleared as there is a light ‘ Lavante’ breeze blowing up
from the Mediterranean, the sky is blue and by lunchtime it’s due to reach 21
degs+ - overnight down to 13 degs, next week is still looking dry & sunny,
partly cloudy at times, hovering in the low 20s, by next weekend going a little
bit warmer, reaching 23 degs+ by next weekend. Watch this space.
We have another booking in ‘ Doggy World
Heaven’ next weekend, when little ‘ Winnie’ – the Black Pug is coming back for
a two-night sleep-over on Saturday, she will be joining ‘Chico’ who is back
with us from Wednesday for a week, ’Scruffy’ is also here on Friday afternoon
for a few hours, watch this space.
The ‘ Roast Loin of Pork’ seasoned with
Lemon Juice & Sea Salt, went into the hot oven on a bed of mixed ‘Trivets’ –
Brenda then peeled and par-boiled the roast potatoes ( sliced in half) before I
tossed them into the hot –‘ Goose- Fat ‘ - to go in the oven this evening, I
made the ‘ Mixed Herb Stuffing’ and baked it at the same time as the Pork. I will glaze the ' Fuji' Apple slices this evening.
I then made my famous finger-licking ‘Pan
Gravy’ with the juices in the roasting tray, de-glazed with a rich ‘Meat &
Vegetable’ stock, the seasoning and consistency adjusted to taste, a dash of ‘
Crosse & Blackwell’ Gravy Browning to colour, then left to cook-off under
the eye of the ‘ Second Chef’ – meanwhile the ‘ Vegetable Chef’ had prepared Crushed
Baby Carrots & Turnips, Broccoli & Cauliflower Florets in a three
Cheese sauce, Wilted Sea Kale & Garden Peas, with a small dish of her
famous ‘ Mashed Potato’!
At lunchtime we are going along to ‘ Bar
Castillo ‘ for a nice cool drink, sat outside in the warm sunshine, we had a small selection of 'Tapas' - Paella, Callos,( Tripe & Chickpea Stew) Russian Salad & Korma Chicken, after
supper this evening we will settle down to watch the pen-ultimate episode of
the very exciting & gripping ‘ Line of Duty ‘ - last night there was a surprise ending to
the excellent Danish drama ‘ Follow the Money ‘ which also reaches it’s climax
next weekend. Watch this space.
PS; She didn't win it this month !! Watch this space in May!
