ANOTHER VERY COLD AND SUNNY MANILVA ON SUNDAY;

SUNDAY 22^nd / JANUARY 2017.

We managed another nice lie in this morning before the church bells started calling the faithful, for breakfast we had Brenda’s famous ‘Poached Eggs on Toast’ with mugs of steaming tea, it was then time to set up this evenings supper.

‘ Grilled Marinated New Zealand ( South Island ) Lamb Cutlets & Chops’ – they are marinated in Olive Oil, Tarragon, Sea Salt & crushed Black Peppercorns, the ‘ Vegetable Chef’ is preparing Cauliflower& Broccoli Florets in a three Cheese sauce, finely sliced Green Beans and Garden Peas a la Flamande (with Baton Carrots) – meanwhile I’ve made our favourite ‘ Boulangere’ Potatoes, layers of seasoned sliced Potatoes & Onions in a rich ‘Vegetable & Chicken’ stock, the potatoes are cut thinner for  each of the three layers, it will go in the oven this evening and the Lamb will be flash-cooked on a very hot griddle plate when the potatoes are ready!

We have another very cold and sunny day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – as forecast, the sun broke through earlier and there is no breeze, by this afternoon it’s due to reach the heady heights of 17degs! -overnight it drops to 10degs, next week is still looking settled, we will find out on tomorrow afternoons ‘TVE’s weather forecast what the week ahead has in store for us, watch this space.

Just a quick update on the football results; Liverpool lost at home to bottom team, Swansea 2-3, sadly they can’t defend or score goals! Everton won, away, 0-1 and Manchester City gave away a 2 goal lead to draw 2-2, over here Real Madrid were lucky to beat Malaga, at home, 2-1!

Next week in ‘ Doggy World Heaven ‘ ‘ Reina’ is back with us for her regular five days, no doubt ‘ Chispa’ will be in & out to see her, we have no appointments etc so it’s going to be a quiet week, at home, taking things easy, relaxing, doing nothing, because we can, I will be out & about on Friday for the weekly shopping.

Last night after supper we watched the next episode of  ‘Taboo’ with gripping ‘ transgressive’ scenarios; incestuous longing in the church( sister & brother) - a ‘S&M’ club, fascination with viscara, an assassins body be eaten by crabs, a repugnant husband, a childhood male friend pledged his troth to the main character, the wicked stepmother being set up by the shadowy female American spy – batten down the hatches for next week’s episode!
