I was up first this morning to welcome back
little princess ‘ Reina’ for the day, she’s with us for five days this week,
she shot upstairs and ended up on the bed, ‘Scruffy’ also stayed on the bed so
by the time I came back upstairs there was not a lot of room for me! After
freshening up we took him out for his walk, when we returned we had our regular
light breakfast.
To start the week we have yet another glorious
day down here on the ‘ Costa Del Sol’ – the sun was out early and the ski bright
blue, there is no breeze, so it’s very crisp & sunny, the forecast for the
week ahead is now looking settled but going very cold, there is a new cold
front coming in from the ‘Atlantic’ from
tomorrow, which will cause a severe ‘ cold snap’ – hopefully picking up later
in the week, watch this space.
Rose is going across to the hospital this
morning to collect Adrian after he’s been giving the all clear, ( fingers
crossed!) - they will then pick ‘ Scruffy’ up later, we will miss him, as
usual, he’s a joy to have around and is no problem he eats well, goes out to
his regular spots, sleeps all night and is such good company. ‘ Chispa ‘ is in and
out all the times to see all her friends.
This evening we are having the second pan
of ‘ Lancashire Hotpot’ for our supper, the rest of the weeks menus have yet to
be decided, later I'm making a fresh batch of my now famous ' Tomato Salsa' - watch this space.
All things going to plan, tomorrow morning
we are going across to Estepona for some
‘ January Sales ‘ shopping, we both need new ‘ Trainers’ – at the same time I
will call into my Barber, Manuel, for the full works, no doubt we will have a
good look around the dress shops etc, tomorrow evening we are going down to the
surgery as we have our regular appointments with the Chiropodist, on Friday
morning I will be out on my ‘ travels’ down in Sabinillas for the weekly
shopping.
The news on the pound this morning is not
good, it’s at its lowest in over 31 years against the $ & against the ‘ Euro’
its dropped down again to its lowest in
over 3 months, all this means that our ‘Pension’ transfers due in next week
will be down considerably, the markets are waiting to hear what the Prime
Minister has to say, tomorrow, about ‘ Brexit’ Watch this space.
Yesterday evening after supper we watched
on ‘TVE2’ – the Spanish ‘ BBC2’ surprisingly, a British crime drama that we had
not see before “ Vera “ It stars Brenda
Blethyn as the principal character ‘ DCI Vera Stanhope’ in the fictional ‘
Northumberland & City Police’ – she is obsessive about her work and driven
by her own demons, she plods along in a constantly dishevelled state, but has a
calculating mind and despite her irascible personality she cares deeply about
her work and comrades, the story lines are very gripping & exciting,
another one not to miss, that’s if you have not already seen it in the past six
series!!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
