I was up again early this morning to
welcome ‘ Reina’ back with us for the day, we both then shot back upstairs to
bed for another nice lie in before breakfast, we have another quiet day today
doing nothing in particular, Brenda is as usual pottering about and I’m up in
the office/studio on the ‘ WWW’
At the moment its staying dry, the forecast
was for the ‘ Atlantic’ storm front to hit us earlier, then was expected, it’s
due to rain later and tomorrow we are on a ‘ Yellow’ alert for heavy rain &
winds, it’s also still very cold and the overall temperatures have dropped by
4/5degs, the sky is clearing and there is even sign of the sun breaking
through, over the rest of the weekend it’s due to pick up, keep dry and go a
little warmer, watch this space.
See below an old Post Card from Colwyn Bay
to remind the ‘ Moffatt’s’ up in ‘Torre de la Horadada’ about what they are
missing?! Their friends Wes & Judith
have just joined them for Thea’s birthday on Monday, we have just come off the ‘
Skype’ video after speaking to them before they went out for a ‘ Al Fresco
Tapas Lunch’! See below.
And later !!
All this means that I’m not going out on my travels down to Sabinillas tomorrow morning, as usual, for the weekly shopping, Brenda is going to join me on Saturday morning, for the first time in a long time, I will still do our main shopping in ‘ Mercadona’ and she’s going to check out the local shops etc for some essentials, she will also post some birthday/greeting cards and collect the local newspapers, we will then meet up and finish the rest of the shopping at the ‘English Butchers’ in ‘ Puerto de la Duquesa’ and then ‘ Super Sol’ – the local market at the end of the promenade is not open on a Saturday and the two local flower shops are too expensive, so no fresh flowers this week!

For our supper this evening we are having ‘Grilled
Chicken Wings’ with finely sliced Green Beans & Baked Potatoes, for our ‘
Fish Supper ‘ tomorrow evening we are having ‘ Hake Fillets ‘ and then on Saturday
it’s going to be a ‘ Steak Supper ‘ – on Sunday we are now going to prepare a ‘
Sunday Roast ‘ for the first time in a while, ‘Roast Chicken ‘ with all the
trimmings.
I came across this old poster on a ‘Facebook’ Liverpool sight, see below, it
shows the old Music Paper the 'NME' with the main news about ‘ The Dennisons’ with their track, the
classic ‘ Rufus Thomas track ‘ Walking the Dog ‘ I’ve played the track on my ‘Live
Radio Show’ – watch out for the ‘ ReLaunch ‘ of ‘ Sir’ Malcolm’s Classic Saturday
Session’ in February!
I grew up with all of them, we lived in
Orrell Park, Aintree, in two streets, we went to ‘Primary’ school together, then
various ‘Grammer’ Schools, I went to the Liverpool Collegiate School with Ray Scragg’s,
( Rhythm Guitar) and Clive Hornby, ( Drummer ) - who went onto play Jack Sugden in Emmerdale
Farm! Steve MaClaren ( Lead Guitar ) went
to the ‘Liverpool Institute ’ – at the same time as Paul McCartney & George
Harrison and Allan Willis ( Bass Guitar) went to the ‘ Alsop Grammer School’-
the singer Eddy Parry was at the local Secondary Modern School.
Sadly they have all passed away except
Allan Willis, my oldest friend ( 5 year old !) - who lives outside Ross-on-Wye,
we met up with him before we left on our travels, his daughter lives &
works in Madrid, his mum, Ann, was my mum’s dear friend, she lived to over a
hundred, we actually spoke to her on her 100th birthday!
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
