We were awoken by the voice of the commentator
at the top of our street first thing this morning telling us about the ‘ Manilva
Maraton Cyclo-Cross ‘ which was just about to start! See the pictures above
later.
Brenda grabbed a quick shower, I’m later, we
then had a treat for my ‘Birthday Breakfast’-
a nice glass of chilled Cava with crispy ‘ Smoked Bacon Butties’ It’s an official
‘ day off’ for the Chef & Staff!!
Sadly we have a problem with the Spanish
postal system, no cards have arrived?! Brenda checked with our local post
office on Thursday morning, who know us and our address, she had spoken to
Jenny the day before and she said that she, Norah & Lyn over in Australia
had posted all their cards early, I received one card last week but since then
nothing, we usually get about 5/6 cards from family and old friends, we will
try and chase it up on Monday but in the past we have had no luck, its happened
at various times over the years but never like this, please keep sending us
cards ( and postcards !) as we love receiving them, it’s a tradition that we
must keep up! Many thanks to all the messages on Facebook, E-Mails etc from
family, friends, old staff and locals here and all over the World, modern
technology at its finest!! Last night as we were going to bed the ' Skype' video went off, it was Jack & Lyn over in Melbourne calling to wish me a ' Happy Birthday, Even the main page of ' Google' sent me a message, see below!
It’s another perfect day here in sunny
Manilva, the sun was out early and the sky is bright blue, there is just a
slight breeze making its just right for the race as they set off at 9-00am, the
rest of the weekend and into next week is looking fine and settled for the time
of the year. See the picture of sunny Manilva from the air below;
At lunchtime we went along to Bar Castillo for a ' Al fresco Tapas lunch' sat in the warm sunshine with a nice pleasant breeze, tomorrow we are going up to Bar Rojas for the her excellent 'Paella' lunch, the ' Chef' and his ' Staff' are back on duty in the evening!

carrying on to Puerto de la Duquesa to go to our favourite restaurant overlooking the marina ‘ Restaurante Macues’
for my celebration supper!
This morning on the play list for today’s
programmes on ‘ Castle Radio FM 89.2 & Online on the WWW’ my live show ‘ Sir Malcolm’s Classic session’ is
still listed, so fingers crossed that I’m going to make it back on air in the
not too distant future, Andrew is at the moment on a sick leave/ short holiday
so I’m still waiting for him to come up to my office here in the house to
install all the programme systems, watch this space.
