WEDNESDAY 7th / SEPTEMBER 2016.
I was up first to see ‘ Reina’ back with us
for the day, we then freshened up before breakfast, I noticed that Jack &
Lyn, over in Melbourne, were online on the ‘Skype’ video so we made contact and
had a good long catch up with all their news, ours of course is on the Blog for
all to see! They are both very well despite all the usual aches & pains of ‘old
age’ – just like us over here, it was’Fathers Day’ over in Australia over the
weekend so Jack had been spoilt, they also had the first ‘ BBQ’ – which is the
sign for all ‘Australians’ that summer is on the way!
After breakfast I shot out on my travels
around the village, I called into the local bank in ‘Calle Mar’ for some cash,
topped up our ‘Pay-As-You-Go’ mobile phones at the ‘ Tabac’ and then went down
to the Butchers to stock up, Chicken Wings & three sorts of Burgers ( Beef,
Pork & Chicken!) for another day as well as two nice Chicken Breasts for
this evening supper.
I’m making my special ‘ Chicken Kiev ‘ at
Brenda’s request, my recipe follows the original Russian Recipe of the Master
Chef ‘ Antoine Carame’ – I fill the whole Chicken Breast with a cold Butter
mixed with Sauteed Smoked Bacon Sippits & Garlic, then the breast is coated
in breadcrumbs, shallow fried in Vegetable oil, to colour, then baked in the
oven, on the side we are having finely sliced Green Beans and ‘ Stringfellows’ – hand cut by Brenda! See below!
It’s going to be even hotter today, the sun
was out early and by lunchtime its due to reach into the high 30s down here on
the ‘ Costa Del Sol’- inland it will be in the high 40s – yesterday in Sevilla
it was 51 degs! The hottest ever recorded in history for September!! See the weather map below.
Today’s its Stage 17 of the ‘ Vuelta d’Espana – see
the route maps below. Meanwhile over in the UK the ‘ Tour of Britain’ went
through Knutsford yesterday and today it’s in North Wales.
Last night after supper we settled down to
watch the penultimate episode of the excellent crime drama “ ONE of US “ on BBC,
to say that it was riveting is somewhat of an understatement, to say the least,
the lady Detective who sold drugs to a dealer to get money for an operation for
her daughter is going to be blackmailed/uncovered,
at the same time she has arrested all the main suspects and discovered the
murdered body in the buried car, one of the main characters, in a very
surprising sequence, through himself under a lorry on the motorway and was
killed.
Meanwhile in another surprising twist/development
the wife of the main character was shown having ‘ sex’ with the Farm Hand who
is blackmailing her husband! Are you following? Next week’s final episode is
going to be a ‘ cracker’ as will hopefully found out what it’s all about and
who did the killing as the person that has confessed didn’t!!?? Watch this
space.
