I was up first this morning and after ‘
Reina’ was dropped off for the day I took ‘ Scruffy’ for his first walk of the
day, he’ sleeps on the Marble floor under the bed at this time of the year, he
will be collected later, last night was our hottest so far, today Andalucia is
on various ‘ Sun ‘ alerts, its going to be 38 degs in our area and up to 41
degs in other parts, over the next couple of days it will cool down a little
before going very hot again on Friday, just in time for the weekend.
See below a pictures of the ‘ Anglican
Cathedral ‘ in Liverpool taken from a different view at night and then a very
early photograph of the ‘ Beatles ‘ performing at the ‘Tower Ballroom ‘ in New
Brighton, as I remember them, in Black Leather, with Pete Best on the drums!
The local Council have not been doing very
much publicity for the upcoming events here in the village, and the area in
general, as far as I can discover there is another concert on Thursday in the
Cultural Centre ‘ Cassa Torres’ just around the corner from our house, this
week its ‘ Tango Music & Dancing’ with two more concerts to come on the following
Thursdays in July; this coming Saturday its the ‘ Virgen del Carmen ‘
procession down in Sabinllas/Duquesa – the patron saint of Fishermen.
On Monday
25th July its the annual ‘ Manilva
Brass Band ‘ concert in Calle Mar followed by the ‘ Verbana de Santa Anna ‘
procession and festivities on Tuesday 26 th! There are also various shows/play’s/exhibitions
etc in the ‘ Teatro Municipal ‘ and finally on Saturday July 30th
its the ‘ Noche de Embrujo ‘ – a night of candles, spells, entertainment in
Calle Mar ! All dates are TBC?! Watch this space.
For our supper this evening we are having,
again, ‘ Pork Schnitzels’ with seasonal vegetables and a Baked Potato, a
sauceboat of Tomato Salsa on the side, tomorrow night its going to be ‘
Cumberland Sausages ‘ and then on Thursday its the ‘Chef’s Night Off’ so we are
going along to ‘ Bar Castillo ‘ for a light Tapas supper, before going down to
the ‘Tango Concert’
Today its Stage 10 of the “ Tour De France “
from Escaldes-Engordany to Revel over 197 kms, a very steep climb to start and
then lots of smaller climbs before the finish, ideal for a ‘ Breakaway ‘ See
the route map below.
We are in ‘ Lock Down Mode ‘ keeping as
cool as possible, drinking lots of cold water, all the fans on, the minimal of
clothes, taking things nice and easy.
Thoughts for the Day; See above.
